So you’re stuck in scrolling purgatory again, huh? Endlessly thumbing through Paramount Plus, hoping something jumps out. We’ve been there. That’s why we pulled together the Top 10 Movies you would actually want to watch this week—no fluff, no filler. Whether you’re into thrillers, rom-coms, or indie gems, there’s something worth hitting play on. Here’s your movie cheat sheet for July 27-August 2, 2025 —because your time is too valuable for another “meh” movie night.

1. South Park: The End of Obesity (2024)

Weight-loss drugs are changing lives in South Park—but not Cartman’s, because of course he can’t get a prescription.

The End of Obesity is a sharp, savage, and completely unhinged special that takes on Big Pharma, healthcare gatekeeping, and sugar mascots with chainsaws. (Yeah, it goes there.) Randy gets roped into the chaos, the boys go rogue, and Cartman spirals in the most Cartman way possible.

It’s classic South Park: stupid-smart, brutally honest, and weirdly cathartic.

2. South Park: Not Suitable for Children (2023)

A teacher’s OnlyFans page rocks the school—and Randy immediately loses his mind about it.

Not Suitable for Children dives headfirst into the world of influencers, online clout-chasing, and the absurd overlap between sex work and suburban scandal. It’s raunchy, unfiltered, and somehow manages to roast TikTok culture harder than most documentaries ever could.

Watch it alone. Or with your most chaotic friend.

3. South Park: Joining the Panderverse (2023)

Cartman’s having terrifying dreams. AI is ruining everyone’s lives. And the Panderverse? It’s real—and it’s taking over.

This special is South Park at its most meta, tackling lazy reboots, forced representation, and algorithm-approved content in the most ridiculous way possible. Think multiverse chaos meets marketing committee satire—with Cartman screaming the whole time.

It’s messy, hilarious, and kind of disturbingly on point.

4. Gasoline Alley (2022)

A triple murder. A shady Hollywood conspiracy. And Bruce Willis doing… not that much, to be honest.

Gasoline Alley follows a tattoo artist (Devon Sawa) who finds himself accused of killing three women—and decides to solve the case himself. Luke Wilson and Willis play detectives, but the real mystery is how this movie even got made.

It’s pulpy, gritty, and absolutely B‑movie energy. But hey, sometimes that hits the spot.

5. Novocaine (2025)

Meet Nate: a guy who literally can’t feel pain. Convenient, since his girlfriend just got kidnapped and he’s about to go full action-hero mode.

Novocaine is bloody, chaotic, and surprisingly funny. Jack Quaid leads with that perfect “just a normal dude” energy, and the whole movie feels like Crank meets Scott Pilgrim with a dash of rom-com gone wrong.

It’s dumb in the best way—and kind of sweet underneath all the bruises.

6. Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

You already know. But even if you’ve seen it (twice), Top Gun: Maverick still hits like a missile.

Tom Cruise is back in the cockpit, defying gravity and aging like a man who does his own stunts—which, he does. Maverick’s now training a new squad of hotshot pilots for a mission that’s basically impossible. Miles Teller plays Goose’s son. Emotions fly. So do jets.

It’s loud, slick, emotional, and probably the best sequel we didn’t know we needed.

7. Extract (2009)

Mike Judge took the soul-sucking energy of Office Space and dropped it into a flavor extract factory—and Extract was born.

Jason Bateman plays a frustrated boss whose personal and professional life implode after one workplace accident, one manipulative new employee (hi, Mila Kunis), and one very bad idea involving his wife and a gigolo.

It’s awkward, dry, and kind of brilliant. Ben Affleck in a soul patch? Also there.

8. A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014)

Liam Neeson trades in his Taken phone voice for something darker—and colder—in this gritty detective thriller.

He plays a former NYPD cop turned private investigator hired by a drug dealer to track down his wife’s killers. It gets ugly. Fast. David Harbour and Dan Stevens show up, and the whole thing unspools like a neo-noir fever dream.

Less action, more dread. And yeah, Neeson still punches people.

9. Mean Girls (2004)

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by Regina George.

Mean Girls is still the blueprint for high school comedies that are both savage and smart. Lindsay Lohan plays the new girl, Rachel McAdams is iconic as queen bee Regina, and Tina Fey’s script is wall-to-wall quotables.

It’s fetch. It always will be. And if you haven’t watched it in a while—this is your sign.

10. The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)

Matthew McConaughey in a suit. In a Lincoln. Solving crime with swagger.

The Lincoln Lawyer is a twisty courtroom drama that never drags. McConaughey plays Mickey Haller, a smooth-talking defense attorney juggling dangerous clients, moral gray zones, and one case that hits way too close to home.

If you’re into legal thrillers with slick dialogue and a touch of noir, this one delivers.

And That’s a Wrap

There it is—ten Paramount+ picks with range for days. You’ve got high-flying sequels (Top Gun: Maverick), courtroom cool (The Lincoln Lawyer), and the ultimate teen comedy that still rules the lunch table (Mean Girls).

In the mood for something weirder? Novocaine brings the chaos, Extract delivers the awkward laughs, and Gasoline Alley leans hard into gritty B-movie territory. And if you’re ready to dive into the unhinged brilliance of South Park, you’ve got not one, not two, but three razor-sharp specials ready to roast everything from Ozempic to AI.

Whether you’re rewinding a favorite or jumping into something new, this week’s Paramount+ lineup is anything but boring.

Pop some popcorn. Pick your vibe. Press play.
