There are many players that made the Cleveland Indians one of the most memorable franchises in the 1990s. They possessed one of the greatest lineups that has ever been put together and made it to the 1995 and 1997 World Series.

One of the most memorable fan favorites from this core was pitcher Bartolo Colon, or "Big Sexy" as some would call him. He finally called it a career and retired from the game on Sunday in New York.

Colon played MLB baseball for an astounding 21 years appearing for 11 different teams. However, this entire legacy started in Cleveland.

The pitcher from the Dominican Republic pitched for the then-named Indians for six seasons posting an ERA of 3.92 and a 1.363 WHIP while striking out 7.6 batters per nine innings.

Cleveland traded Colon to the Montreal Expos (now Washington Nationals) in exchange for Lee Stevens, Cliff Lee , Brandon Philips, and Grady Sizemore . Not a bad trade at all for either side.

Colon spent the majority of his career with Cleveland but elected to retire as a New York Met. The reason he wanted to retire from that organization was the connection that he formed with the fan base and organization over the three seasons he spent there.

Arguably the most iconic moment of Bartolo's entire career happened when he hit his first career home run as a Met at Petco Park. This will go down as one of the funniest first home runs in history.

Colon gave his all to the game of baseball which can be seen by all the teams he pitched for. He hasn't appeared in a game since 2018 but the consistency he

The game is saying goodbye to a legend but all the memories he's given fans will last forever.
