Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has received far more attention for his incredible power at the plate than his defensive ability at third base, but the rookie made a play in the field during Thursday’s game that belongs on highlight reels.

In the top of the fourth inning of Toronto’s matinee game against the Boston Red Sox, Guerrero was gobbled up a bit by a hard ground ball to third from his counterpart Rafael Devers. He didn’t have time to stand up and throw to first, so he just threw Devers out while sitting down.

Guerrero may not have the arm that his father had, but that’s pretty impressive.

We’ve already seen the impact Guerrero can make at the MLB level with some of the monster home runs he has hit, but he has also made four errors in just 20 games. His defense could use some improvement, and plays like that should boost the 20-year-old’s confidence.
