Reason Why Warriors Traded James Wiseman Revealed

After two short seasons, the Golden State Warriors have officially given up on James Wiseman. It's a move that seems shocking and not surprising at the same time, considering he was the number two pick, ahead of LaMelo Ball.

According to John Hollinger and Tom Haberstroh, the Golden State Warriors are going to save $131 million in savings to dump James Wiseman.

The Golden State Warriors would essentially save about $51 million in salary and luxury tax this year, and roughly $85 million in salary and luxury tax next year. James Wiseman has played 21 games this year and is only averaging 9.9 points and 5.0 rebounds. The Warriors have been incredibly patient with Wiseman, but he hasn't given them any reason to be patient.

On the other end, it's pretty rare for a team to give up on a number two pick only two years in his career. It's far too early to call it quits on James Wiseman, but he's also costing the Warriors too much money. The Warriors will already have a plethora of issues to deal with next season with Draymond Green's contract, and figuring out how they'll compete with the Phoenix Suns, they just couldn't afford to be patient with James Wiseman anymore.
