Sixers Officially Sign Kelly Oubre
Nell Redmond-USA TODAY Sports

The 76ers have officially signed guard/forward Kelly Oubre , president of basketball operations Daryl Morey announced in a press release.

While details weren’t revealed, reports suggest it’s a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum.

Oubre seemed like a long shot to return to the Hornets after the team drafted small forward Brandon Miller with the No. 2 overall pick. Charlotte also re-upped with guard/forward Miles Bridges, who missed last season as the result of a domestic case.

That left Oubre as the odd man out, sending him into free agency for the duration of the summer.

Meanwhile, the 76ers are getting some help at the wing position amidst the uncertainty surrounding star guard James Harden, who requested a trade. So far, Philadelphia has found no takers and reportedly isn’t pushing that strongly to move him.

Oubre signed with the Hornets in 2024 and has been impactful as a starter or reserve, averaging 20.3 points in 48 games last season, shooting 43 percent from the field and 32 percent on 3-pointers.

He has also spent time with the Wizards, Warriors and Suns, compiling averages of 12.8 points in 527 career games.

Oubre was the top player remaining on our list of available free agents.
