Trae Young Gets Honest About Luka Doncic Narrative
USA TODAY Sports

Luka Doncic and Trae Young are often compared because they were essentially traded for each other on their Draft Day. During a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, Young and Green discussed this dynamic and the narratives it produces.

Asking Young about all of this, Green said the following:

"Luka is incredible... You've been All-NBA, he's been All-NBA, you've been All-Star, he's an All-Star, neither has won MVP, both has led their team to a Conference Finals... Your name is being thrown around in trade talks... Have not heard anyone ever say Luka should be traded... But you've done some of the same things. How does that make you feel when you think about it? You two are always compared because of the Draft Day trade... And the reality is, when you take a step back, you're very close in points, I think you probably lead in assists, but the narrative out there isn't the same."

Responding to Green, Young said the following:

"I don't even stress over it no more. I know the real ones get it. I feel like for me, once I win a championship it'll even open up more eyes to what I've really done. Especially to some of my peers that I'm compared with... To be honest with you, I have no hate towards nobody, especially Luka. We talk all the time. We got a lot of love for each other, a lot of respect for each other. There's different agendas and the way people look at certain people is different. To be honest, I don't get caught up into it."
