Colts star rookie suffers second injury in two games
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson. Maria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Richardson has had an impressive start to his NFL career, but the Indianapolis Colts quarterback suffered another injury on Sunday.

Richardson scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the first half of his team’s game against the Houston Texans. He took a big shot from defensive back M.J. Stewart on the second one. Richardson’s head bounced off the turf on the play.

Richardson was seen being taken to the locker room for a concussion evaluation. The Colts later ruled him out for the remainder of the game, which likely means he has entered concussion protocol.

The injury was the second in two games for Richardson. He also left late in last week’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars after he was shaken up on a scramble play.

Gardner Minshew replaced Richardson in both games. Minshew quickly led a touchdown drive to put the Colts up 21-7 after Richardson left on Sunday.

Richardson’s style of play leaves him susceptible to injuries. We have already seen two examples of that in just two games. If the former Florida star wants to stay healthy, he is going to have to follow the advice Trevor Lawrence gave him after last week’s game.
