The Green Bay Packers have had an active offseason under GM Brian Gutekunst . With over $100 million spent on two free agents, Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs, Gutekunst has been adamant about obtaining the guys he wants. Gutekunst has taken this philosophy on the scouting trail as well, getting his feet wet at pro days that may be of interest to the Green Bay Packers.

The Wisconsin Badgers have an intriguing batch of prospects in the NFL Draft for the Packers to choose from and general manager Gutekunst seems intrigued enough, attending the Wisconsin pro day to get a better feel for these prospects.

Potential Green Bay Packers at Wisconsin pro day

With the future of the Packers running back room uncertain beyond the new signing of Jacobs, the Baders have a running back prospect that the Packers could have an interest in. Braelon Allen is a running back who many evaluators have near the top of their draft board for the position. The 20-year-old 6-foot-2 240-pound back would thrive behind the strong Green Bay offensive line. Nearly putting up over 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons with the Badgers, the NFL has been put on notice by Allen’s capabilities.

“I bring a lot of physicality and a downhill running style. A more old school style, but I can also catch the ball and run routes, pass protect, and I think I bring a lot of value in that way. Just being versatile," said Allen at the NFL Scouting Combine. "Of course, there’s a lot of things I want to work on and get better at, more consistent, at the end of the day, I’m young and have a long way to go until I’m fully developed. In the right system, at the right place, I can be a great player.”

The tenacity and abilities of Allen are likely high on the Packers draft board. Another Wisconsin player who could be of interest to the organization is interior offensive lineman Tanor Bortalini. Bortalini certainly put on a showing good enough for the Packers at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he posted a nearly perfect Relative Athletic Score of 9.97.

With needs at running back and offensive line depth the Packers figure to have a close eye on the Wisconsin Badgers come draft day.
