A young Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan who posed the question in a science fair project a few years ago whether Tom Brady was a cheater due to his role in the "Deflategate" scandal is now thrilled that his favorite NFL team signed the iconic quarterback.

Ace Davis, now 11, recently spent some time reflecting upon his infamous project from fourth grade in which the question “Is Tom Brady a cheater?” was posed.

Ace also made it clear in comments to Jenna Laine of ESPN that he is welcoming Brady with open arms and no hard feelings.

“I’ll give him a shot all right. And if he starts winning games? Woooooo! I’m gonna be bragggginnnnng,” Davis said. “People at school, they’re all like, ‘Your team sucks’ and all that stuff. Ima come back at ’em, ‘Now what team sucks?’ Well, they don’t really make fun of me. It’s just kind of like a joke.

“But I’m pretty sure my cousins are gonna make fun of me about it.”

Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season by the NFL after a protracted appeals process involving his punishment for the Deflategate scandal, a controversy spawned by the discovery of under-inflated balls during the 2014 AFC Championship Game.

As Ace sees it, Brady wasn’t the brains behind the scheme.

“I don’t think that Tom Brady was all in it,” Ace said. “… But Bill Belichick, I think he made up the plan, and then Tom Brady went through with it. I think it was more on Bill Belichick than Tom Brady. But Tom Brady, he has a bigger name.”

Ace’s logic aside, odds are that most Buccaneers fans are behind Brady now that he’s with the team, even if they viewed him differently during the Patriots’ dynastic run that included six Super Bowl victories.
