The Win Column had the pleasure of interviewing recent draft pick Aidan Lane. Lane was drafted in the sixth round by the Calgary Flames, 176th overall.
It’s almost become a cliche to describe a player’s draft year experience as wild or weird. The hockey world is pretty chaotic at times, and this past season especially so, given the gigantic wrench the NCAA threw into the works in November when they opened things up to Canadian major junior players.
With the 176th pick, the Calgary Flames selected forward Aidan Lane out of St. Andrew’s College. Being another winger in the Flames’ system, Lane has the potential to turn into another value pick chosen in the later rounds.
