The Maine Mariners don’t play until this weekend when they face the Worcester Railers for three games starting on Friday night. The Boston Bruins today assigned defenseman Max Wanner to their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, while assigning defenseman Jackson Edward from Providence down to Maine.
Powered by their captain Wyllum Deveaux, the Maine Mariners extended their winning streak to three games with a 4-1 victory over the Trois-Rivières Lions on Wednesday night at the Cross Insurance Arena.
The Boston Bruins American Hockey League affiliate re-assigned defenseman Jackson Edward to the Maine Mariners of the ECHL on Monday. The Providence Bruins sent Edward to Maine a day after clinching a playoff berth.
Jackson Edward was born on February 27, 2004, in Newmarket, Ontario. The left-shot defenseman played 25 games for the Richmond Hill Coyotes U15AAA team in the ETAHL during the 2018-19 season and scored 14 goals with 18 assists in 25 games before finishing the year with three games for the U16AAA team.
There's more to hockey than scoring goals and stopping pucks. For some players, putting up points came second to their main task: angering their opponents.
The Boston Bruins could probably use a little edginess on their team. The defensive corps is talented but is it physical enough? Can it withstand the rigors of the playoffs when the tension and the aggression increase?
