Last Word on Football brings you the latest team news and the confirmed lineups for the Bournemouth vs Sunderland Premier League clash at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, February 28, kickoff 12:30 pm GMT.
A Bournemouth win will see them break the 40-point barrier and a chance of qualifying for Europe. For the Black Cats, they will be hoping to bounce back from three consecutive league defeats and get within touching distance of their 40 points target for the season.
Out: Lewis Cook (hamstring), Justin Kluivert (knee), and Ben Gannon-Doak (hamstring).
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraolais is expecting a tough game against Sunderland. “It’s a team that has played really well this season. Starting from the goalkeeper, he has been very, very good for them. He has a really long kick, so it puts you under pressure really early. Every free-kick and every set-piece situation, they put a lot of pressure on you; they manage the situations very well.”
Out: Brian Brobbey (groin), Nordi Mukiele (calf), Reinildo (knee), Dennis Cirkin (hamstring), Romaine Mundle (hamstring), and Jocelin Ta Bi (ankle).
Ahead of the game and on the back of three consecutive Sunderland head coach, Regis Le Bris said: “We are in a tough league – a young team with injuries, suspensions and different events. We expected that a bit earlier [in the season]. It is not the best period from a results perspective. We are learning a lot, and it is often in these tough phases that you are learning more.”
