Football Manager 26 isn’t the be-all and end-all but it is a great place to see where every Manchester United wonderkid ranks in their current projections within the footballing world. Their club’s academy is revered by the fanbase and has been a big point of contention with the recent arguments that an academy player has been named in the squad every season, a point of pride for the institution and fans. In this one, we’ll be ranking each prospect the Red Devils have based on their abilities in the most recent edition of Football Manager.

Ranking Every Manchester United Wonderkid in FM26

12. Bendito Mantato

English/Angolan defender Bendito Mantato has been making his way through the youth system in Manchester, he is just 18 but has already been playing up in the U21 development squad. He has also been capped by England at every age level showing some versatility in playing as both a left-back and as a winger on either flank.

11. Diego Leon

Signed from Cerro Porteno the Paraguayan full back has made his way into the senior national team, earning his first cap in the tail end of 2025. He has mainly played for the development squad at club level and has seen his stock fall a little since the move, hence his lower ranking here.

10. Jayden Ngwashi

Teenager Jayden Ngwashi has been subject to something of a bidding war for his national allegiance after playing for Italy at U16 level before switching to England at the next age group up. He’s been playing in the U18 Premier League and is a highly rated centre-back with the game putting him on a similar level to Ayden Heaven potential-wise.

9. Ayden Heaven

Being in and around the first team hasn’t been enough to get Heaven higher up the list, but he’s stil a decently rated prospect in this year’s edition of the series. He’s notched over 600 minutes in the Premier League after being taken from Arsenal’s academy with him being a solid Manchester United wonderkid option at the heart of the defence.

8. Patrick Dorgu

Signed as a highly rated full-back, Patrick Dorgu has been known to Football Manager players since 24 when he was an absolute bargain wing-back option. His hype has sustained with his move to the big leagues as he looked like one of the few players capable of playing well in Ruben Amorim’s system.

7. Jayce Fitzgerald

Moving into midfield we have Jayce Fitzgerald, he has played for England regularly at every age group. He is a regular for the Red Devils’ development squad, playing 21 times this campaign alone across the PL2, EFL Trophy, Premier League International Cup, and National League Cup, tallying over 1500 minutes. He remains an exciting prospect for the future of the team’s midfield.

6. Harry Amass

Another name who has been making a splash at senior level and been rewarded with a good rating in the game, Harry Amass featured for the Manchester United first team last season and has gone on loan to Norwich for a successful stint in the Championship in this term. The versatile defender has been proving he is worth the hype consistently and at just 18 could be due for a rise in his potential in the next game.

5. Chido Obi

The Danish striker has reached an interesting point in his career, he is a highly touted prospect who has been on the fringes of the senior squad for some time but he has yet to get over the hump. This also applies to international football where he’s still playing for Denmark’s U21 team but not the full national team just yet. His rating is arguably higher than it should be but the game has him as fifth best prospect in Manchester.

4. Amir Ibragimov

Amir Ibragimov is an attacker who primarily plays on the left but can play on the right or through the middle. He’s a surprise name on here having not been a standout for youth football at the international level but his five goal contributions in 12 appearances for Manchester United’s youth teams in season is a good return. He got 17 in 36 last term, proving to be a creative outlet which Football Manager has high hopes for.

3. Shea Lacey

We already have a detailed Shea Lacey scout report for those interested but for others we’ll give the cliff notes. The young attacker has been able to force his way into the first team picture after grabbing nine goals for the development team in 12 appearances. His close control is one of his best attributes as his smaller stature makes him a good dribbler, his abilities have earned him one of the highest potential ratings at the club in the game.

2. Kobbie Mainoo

It comes as no surprise that Kobbie Mainoo is one of the top rated Manchester United wonderkid candidates in FM26. He broke onto the scene as a midfielder who showed a great technical ability on the ball, eventually forcing his way into the England setup. His career stalled a bit under Amorim but that didn’t stop him from getting the respect he’s earned by the SI devs and scouts.

1. Leny Yoro

An absolute uniocorn defender, Leny Yoro was picked up as one of the first big moves of the Jim Ratcliffe regime and he’s gone from strength to strength on the pitch. He is recognised as one of the best centre-back prospects in FM26 and deservedly so.
