Vera Zvonareva has returned to tennis, stepping back onto the court for the first time in a year and a half. Zvonareva, once ranked as high as world number two, played in both the Wimbledon and US Open finals back in 2010.
The WTA Tour wrapped up its regular season in November, with Elena Rybakina finishing on top at the Finals. But for many players further down the rankings, their year has not ended just yet.
Former World No. 2 Vera Zvonareva made her return to tennis on December 1, 2025, with a win at the ITF W100 Dubai. Zvonareva, aged 41, played against Croatia’s Tara Wuerth on Monday and secured a win in straight sets.
