The 49ers selected 11 total players in the 2013 NFL Draft. They made about four trades which at this point looking to 2014 the 49ers currently sit at 10 picks. Here are all the picks and a quick overview on each player. No.18 Eric Reid – 6’1, 213 – Safety, LSU It was a no-brainer for Reid, a highly touted national recruit with an excellent academic record, to commit to LSU. His father is in the school’s athletic hall of fame as an All-American hurdler, winning the NCAA championship in the 110-meter hurdles as a senior in 1987. Eric Reid Sr. still works on the LSU campus, so his son got to know the facilities and team’s coaches quite well growing up. That familiarity bred early success for Reid, as he played in all 13 games, got crucial playing time against Alabama (six tackles, one for loss) and got starts in the final three regular season games. And though he didn’t start the team’s bowl win over Texas A&M, he still came through with seven stops and an interception. As a sop...

First Round NFL Draft Grades: San Francisco 49ers

PICK: Eric Reid, S, LSU ANALYSIS: I know San Francisco was going to trade up for someone, but why Reid? I know there's been a lot of buzz around him lately (mostly with the Bengals), but I just don't see him as a first round prospect. I think San Francisco could have stayed put and taken a better safety like Matt Elam. He fills a big need, but I just can't understand...

49ers trade up for Reid

The 49ers traded up to No. 18 overall to address perhaps their biggest need, adding LSU safety Eric Reid.

NFL Draft: 49ers Trade Up, Draft Safety Eric Reid

It comes as no surprise at all that the San Francisco 49ers packaged a pair of picks to trade up from No.31 to No.18 overall in the draft. It does, however, come as a surprise that they chose to take LSU safety Eric Reid, a player many draft analysts had projected to go late in the first round or early second round. San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke sent the Niner’s...

49ers Trade up for Safety Eric Reid

Draft Profile CBS Sports NFL.com Draft Profile FS Eric Reid out of LSU is a player the 49ers may look to at No. 31. Reid is projected as a 2nd rounder, but at 31 overall, it might not be that much of a stretch. If he is the player the 49ers covet. Doubt he is there at the end of the 2nd round, but with 14 picks the 49ers do have fire power if they chose to trade up. CBS Sports...

Mingo, Reid Go in 2013 NFL First Round

The first round of the NFL Draft has come and gone which saw two LSU Tigers hear their names called. Barkevious Mingo went 6th overall to the Browns while Eric Reid was picked 18th by the San Francisco 49ers. Kevin Minter, who was a fringe candidate for the first round, did not get to hear his name called (nor did Manti Te'o, for that matter). He'll be among the many Tigers...
