Sons of Steve Garvey:
Did you know Matt Kemp has a blog? It's at Yardbarker, the home of Chad Billingsley's dormant blog, so we're not worried Matty will outdo us with the updates. But his latest (okay, second) entry brings us news of Kemp's appearance on the BET reality show "Played by Fame," kind of a reverse "Punk'd" where celebrities play jokes on their fans.
The burning question: Can Kemp act? See for yourself. The program consists of three clips, and I have to say I was impressed by the Bison's screen presence. Dude's got charisma, and sold his supposed superstitions rather convincingly. And be sure to look for Kemp's best line, in Clip 3: "Watch the cracks, watch the cracks!"

Thursday's Games of the Day
Thirteen games are slated for Thursday as the last two weeks of Interleague Play begin to wind down. I've highlighted nine of those games. John Smoltz's Red Sox debut, Chad Billingsley's quest for his 10th win, the pitching matchup at Citi Field, and a hot Derek Lee punctuate those highlights. Chicago Cubs at Detroit: The Tigers go for the sweep of the Cubbies on Thursday...
