I was originally upset that I missed the first half of the first Celtics summer league game.  Then I realized that the camera angle you see in that screen grab is the only camera angle in the web broadcast.  From what I could gather... Gabe Pruitt did some good things... Mike Sweetney was pretty decent early... and JR Giddens/Bill Walker flashed some athleticism.  It's hard to really tell, because it was easier to tell who the players were on NBA Live 95 than it is on this camera angle.  They won 87-56... which is nice.  But we'll wait to see what the coaches have to say about what they saw.  They had a better view than we did.  In other... ahem... "news"...  Gary Tanguay says Doc Rivers had his meeting with Grant HillHill update. Doc Rivers has dinner with Grant last night. Tonight Grant is in New York. Chris Mannix of SI.com told us on Sports TonightSo there it is.  The best update we can find.

Celtics 87- Jazz 56 Day 1 in Orlando

The Celtics first summer league game ended in a rout. Here are some impressions from the game vs the Jazz: Bill Walker and JR Giddens both played well. Walker still has a penchant for hard fouls and ended up fouling out but showed some good things as he scored 14 points on 5-9 shooting to go with 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 21 minutes. The best player of the game in...

Giddens impresses in Orlando

We keep looking for little glimmers of goodness from the typical pile of ugliness that is Summer League basketball.  It's understandable.  On the one hand, we've got us fans... who are desperately looking for any sign at all that guys like Gabe Pruitt, Lester Hudson, or Bill Walker have figured something out and will help this team. "Hey... that was a great rebound...

Sheed In, Hill Next, Big Baby on the Way Out

On Sports Sunday with Tanguay and Felger they just said that by the end of the week Grant Hill will be a Celtic along with Rasheed Wallace. Doc has had several meetings with him and according to Tanguay it seems to be a done deal. The bad news was that Big Baby is on his way to San Antonio. They said that with the Sheed signing, Big Baby's minutes would go down and he sees...

The Celtics Catch a Glimpse of Their Future

The Salt Lake Tribune's Ross Siler continues his tour of the Orlando Pro Summer League. He filed this report for TrueHoop on the Celtics' youth movement:  Whether they're hanging championship banners or descending on Rasheed Wallace's house for the start of free agency, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen always will be celebrated as the Big Three of the Boston Celtics. There...

Chasing Grant Hill

It’s a three-horse race at this point: “Grant Hill will receive the Jason Kidd treatment from the Knicks Monday, which includes, among other things, a tour of Madison Square Garden and a home jersey. The one thing Hill won’t be getting is a three-year contract offer worth $18 million like Kidd received. The Knicks are hoping to sign Hill, the veteran free agent...

D-E-S-I-R-E

The Herald is reporting that Grant Hill may simply be attempting to leverage a better deal in Phoenix. "Grant is a very complex individual," a source told the Herald. "Complex" might not be the word I'd choose. Confused, perhaps, not complex. So we have Grant Hill going back to Phoenix or moving to New York and Stephon Marbury going to play for the Wiz. Looking...

Glen Davis a Spur?

As I said it looks Big Baby will be a Spur. He feels he will lose minutes with Rasheed now a Celtic and Grant Hill on the way. -- Gary Tanguay's TwitterLooks like Sheed came with a price other than money.

Celtics Rumor: Swap Grant Hill for Glen Davis

Big Baby and Rasheed Wallace were polar opposites during the playoffs. Davis surprised a lot of people by filling in for an injured Kevin Garnett on the offensive end, accounting for about 16 points and 6 boards per game. On the other hand, ‘Sheed turned in one of the least inspired performances in recent memory, [...]
