Found July 20, 2013 on CLNS Radio:
Anyone who frequently listens to one of my podcasts on CLNS Radio will hear me bristle when Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge is attacked on the show.  The other night while hosting a tribute program for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, one caller said that Ainge is “dead” to him for trading Pierce to the Nets. I immediately fired back that “Ainge is a warrior”, and an important part of Celtics history.  Ever since the trade was announced sending Garnett and Pierce to the Nets, Ainge has received daily criticism for the move.  Many, mostly younger Celtic fans, don’t understand how he could possibly trade away two legends who meant so much to the organization, but they don’t know Danny Ainge.  Dealing Danny just doesn’t care what other people think of him. Ainge first caught my attention in the 1981 NCAA Tournament after he made a buzzer beating coast to coast drive in the final seconds leading BYU to an upset over Notre Dame.  Ainge was an amazing athlete; an all-...

Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) July 20, 2013 With Feverani set to be signed for 3 years, the Celtics are going to have to make a decision on which other centers they want to keep around for the rebuild. Bogans: Wallace and Humphries are better players than they showed last season

Even though most of the focus on newly acquired players Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallce is on their contracts and if they will even suit up in green, also acquired teammate Keith Bogans thinks the pair have plenty left to give. This from Jay King at Masslive.com: “I think a lot of people don’t realize that we played a lot of iso, one-on-one basketball,” Bogans said Monday...

Danny Ainge Eyes Opening Night Return For Rajon Rondo

Rajon Rondo is coming back to a totally different Boston Celtics roster. Rondo is the now the Celtics leader, and he needs to be around to lead.  ESPN.com is reporting that Celtics president Danny Ainge is eyeing an opening night return for the star point guard. Gerald Wallace’s All-Out Style Is Blessing, Curse as Collisions Catch Up With ‘Crash’ (Poll)

Gerald Wallace has been the invisible man since the trade was finalized to bring him to Boston. Rest assured, though. He does exist. Not only is Wallace real, but when he is healthy, he is also real good. The man known as “Crash” was a joy to watch in his prime, particularly his 6 1/2 seasons with the Charlotte Bobcats. To this day, the 2009-10 Bobcats, the only team in franchise...

Pierce and Garnett talk about their "Brother" Rondo and the challenges ahead for the Celtics

The Celtics are now Rajon Rondo's team. The transition began over the past two seasons, but now with Doc Rivers in LA, and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in Brooklyn — the reigns have officially been given to the Celtics point guard. For the past six seasons, Rondo has been little brother to Pierce, KG, and once upon a time, Ray Allen. Now a rehabbing Rondo finds himself as...

Celtics Acquire Trade Exception

The Boston Celtics rebuild got a considerable yet understated shot in the arm with the trade involving Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce moving to the Brooklyn Nets. The deal also included a trade exception for the C's, which could prove to be a valuable asset over future seasons when the rebuild starts to take shape. It's not surprising that this hasn't been widely reported...

Another busy week in the Celtics world. Both the Nets and Celtics introduced their players acquired in the blockbuster trade that sent Pierce and Garnett to New Jersey officially last week. There was Kris Humphries' "bad" attitude, Paul Pierce's touching send off and, of course, an update on what Charles Claxton is up to. We've got it all covered. Check out...

Kris Humphries’ Ex-GF Myla Sinanaj Promoting Her Kim K Style Sex Tape

Just because you sort of look like Kim Kardashian and you slept with her ex-husband, doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to make millions of dollars if you make a sex tape like her. But, that is Myla Sinanaj hopes happens after she shot a scene with Vivid videos. Myla tells TMZ, “I may not like Kim, but she was smart and she’s sexy and I look a lot like her so why not make...

Vote: What Should the Celtics Do With Rajon Rondo?

The Boston Celtics may have traded away the faces of their franchise when they sent Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets this offseason, but one popular face remains — that of Rajon Rondo. The four-time All-Star point guard has remained a Celtic despite trade speculations, but the question remains: Should the Celtics trade their lone remaining star or should they...

Paul Pierce sentimental for return to Boston, not mad about trade, also not sure when Rondo will be healthy

Back on draft day when it was announced that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were going to be traded, the immediate thing that crossed my mind was how emotional it will be to attend their first game back at the Garden next season.  I get goosebumps just thinking about.  To no surprise, Pierce has been thinking about it a lot too.  From Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix: Pierce...

Where We're Wrong About the 2013-14 Boston Celtics

Now that Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry have been shipped to Southern New York, the Boston Celtics find themselves in the midst of a full-blown rebuild.  The past few weeks have been extremely emotional for green teamers but let's face it, we all knew that this day would come and we've had a decent amount of time to prepare ourselves for it.  It all started...

Danny Ainge: If Nets hadn’t come along with offer, ‘we would’ve kept everybody together’

The Brooklyn Nets are set to introduce Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce at a press conference on Thursday at the Barclays Center. For the first time, Garnett and Pierce will hold up their new Nets jerseys and talk about their opportunity to compete for an NBA title in Brooklyn. On Monday, Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge explained

Pierce had to convince KG to waive no trade clause with 90 min. phone call

As most Celtics fans can imagine, it took a little convincing to get Kevin Garnett to waive his no trade clause to get him to Brooklyn. According to Chris Forsberg of the worldwide leader local branch, Pierce had to convince KG with a 90 minute phone call to accept the trade to Nets. Pierce detailed how he had to initially talk KG into trade. Said they had a 90-minute phone conversation...

Danny Ainge admits mistake of JaJuan Johnson/MarShon Brooks swap

During the welcome press conference for MarShon Brooks, Keith Bogans and Kris Humpdashian, Danny Ainge spoke briefly about the mistake of swapping MarShon Brooks for JaJuan Johnson. In the 2011 NBA draft the C’s selected Brooks, who stared for the Providence Friars, with the 25th overall pick but shipped him to the New Jersey Nets for forward/center JaJuan Johnson, the 27th pick...
