Found March 16, 2014 on Fox Sports Arizona:
Arizona's loss to UCLA in the Pac-12 tournament final turned out to be all but meaningless. The Wildcats were selected as the top seed in the West Regional -- second overall behind top overall seed Florida -- when the NCAA tournament field was announced Sunday. Arizona will play 16th-seeded Weber State in the first round on Friday. The West Regional also includes second-seeded Wisconsin, third-seeded Creighton and fourth-seeded San Diego State. Arizona State, considered by some to be a bubble team after losing two straight games to end the regular season and then getting blown out by Stanford in the Pac-12 tournament, was slotted as the 10th seed in the deep Midwest Region. The Sun Devils play seventh-seeded Texas in their first-round game, and if they advance, their region also includes unbeaten top seed Wichita State, second-seeded Michigan, third-seeded Duke and fourth-seeded Louisville, the defending national champion. ASU and Texas play Friday in Milwaukee.
