True Blue L.A.: Despite what anybody else might say, the Dodger bullpen is good.
I challenge you to find another bullpen with as many quality arms.
Ditto. The Dodgers not only have depth in the major leagues, but they have a glut of middle reliever types in the minors just chomping at the bit. If they have depth anywhere, it's in relief.

L.A. Dodger Talk: I am a little confused with their proposed trade offer.
Just, so we are clear, the deal is Loney, Pierre, McDonald, DeWitt, Martin and Withrow for Overbay, Wells and Halladay. The Jays get financial relief and we win the World Series.
I sort of understand why the Blue Jays would take this, but why would the Dodgers want Vernon Wells as a reserve making 20 million dollars for one and a half years? I was confused by this. Their previous suggestion of trading Russell Martin was nothing if not interesting, and it provoked a lot of discussion, but I don't quite get the point behind acquiring this trio.

Sons Of Steve Garvey: Juan Pierre is still a tad bitter about his past treatment.
"A year ago if something like this would have happened. Two years [ago], it would have meant a lot more to me," he said.
You know what would have been great too? If you hit like you did for that month over the duration of your ridiculous contract. Since you didn't though, I don't care about your sob story.

Fan Graphs: Jason Schmidt is terrible. Not news.

True Blue L.A.: 2009 second round draft pick Garrett Gould will probably sign with the Dodgers.

Fan Graphs: Erik Manning recaps the Manny Granny, but he makes a bigger point as well.
Sorry, self-righteous sports writers. Next time you feel like writing some high-horsed column about how steroids are the epitome of evil in baseball, go back and watch the Manny Granny and watch the fans go completely bananas. It is hard proof that the majority of fans really don’t give a rip about PEDs.
Word.
