Baltimore Ravens backup running back Bernard Pierce sustained a sprained knee Thursday night as the Ravens routed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pierce was injured after scoring a 20-yard touchdown. After sustaining the hit, Pierce limped off the field and did not return. He was seen on the sidelines with an ice wrap on his injury. On Sunday, head coach Jim Harbaugh declined any updates on the injury while Pierce did not practice on Saturday. “No comment on any injury situation. If something’s serious, I’ll let you know. I’m not going to get into every little nick and bruise that happens. If it’s serious, I’ll let you know,” Harbaugh said. Pierce figures to play an important role in the Ravens offense this season as Baltimore will likely rely on the running game more this season after the loss of WR Anquan Boldin and TE Dennis Pitta.

Ozzie Newsome Says Trading Anquan Boldin Helped Rebuild Ravens Defense

Bucs pushing for more from Bowers
