I am now a fan of Bill Walton the announcer (already had mad respect for the basketball player). The man is clearly making fun of the very network that he works for. He did it first the other night with his Ray Lewis and Bill Simmons comments. This time he was a little more overt: With his Lewis/Simmons comments he was sly about it. This time it became the subject of conversation between him and his broadcast partner! I can't imagine ESPN not responding to this. Once again he is thumbing his nose at the network and its decision making of late. The only thing that may save him from a suspension of any kind would be that he never directly insulted anyone. All of his comments were technically in favor of the controversial show even though he was clearly being sarcastic. However, if I put my conspiracy hat on I can imagine a scenario where ESPN is doing stuff like this (allowing  Bill Walton to act a fool) on purpose. These days people pay attention to controversy more than anything else. First Take has been a magnet for that! And there is no such thing as bad press, right? Then again, if that was the case the network would not have suspended Bill Simmons from Twitter for bashing  First Take following the Richard Sherman episode. But the conspiracy hat recognizes the intense amount of exposure that the suspension has given them. Hmmm...could ESPN be turning into media manipulators? The stuff you can come up with when you wear the conspiracy hat... [BigLeadSports]

Top 10 Bill Walton Quotes from the Pac 12 Tournament

The highlight of Championship Week was undoubtedly the hilarious, eccentric, hyperbolic, reality-bending commentary of ESPN college basketball analyst Bill Walton.  The big redhead's announcing comeback on the national stage has been one of the best developments in 2013 as he's done something few thought possible - made the nation care about Pac 12 basketball.  I realize...

Bill Walton Suspension Likely Coming Soon

ESPN appears to have a lot in common with Carnival cruise ships these days--they are out of control and just a little bit smelly. From employees bashing the networks product to quips and jokes it seems as if anarchy is the law of the land in Bristol. The only thing the network does seem to control is the exposure that inflammatory comments from the likes of Skip Bayless and Rob Parker...

Bill Walton: "I used to be a SportsCenter guy until I found First Take!"

Last night the brilliance of Bill Walton was once again on full display.  After making some jokes at the expense of the Bill Simmons suspension and Ray Lewis Thursday night, Walton turned his eyes to First Take.  Walton's deadpan delivery makes you really wonder if he's just trolling First Take by saying "those guys bring it!" or if he's a legitimate fan...

Bill Walton had a night for the ages while he was calling the Pac-12 Tournament game between Washington and Oregon on Thursday night. Bill Walton Jokes About ESPN Suspending Bill Simmons, Ray Lewis Murder Case (Video)

Bill Walton made jokes about two ESPN personalities in one broadcast? That should go over well. Bill Simmons was suspended by ESPN from tweeting this week after criticizing their show, First Take, last week. If Walton doesn’t watch his mouth, he may get a similar suspension from broadcasting. Walton was in rare form on Thursday while doing color commentary in the Pac-12 conference...

Bill Walton pokes fun of Ray Lewis and Bill Simmons during broadcast

Bill Walton had a night to remember Thursday while broadcasting the Oregon-Washington game for the Pac 12 Tournament. Walton was quoted as saying...
