ESPN is reporting that Boise State has decided to remain a part of the Mountain West, and not join the Big East as planned in 2013. The Broncos were supposed to join the conference as a football-only member, with the rest of the school's athletic teams joining the Big West. The Big East is still a higher-profile conference even with the planned defections of three schools to other conferences (Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC, Rutgers to the Big East), and the decision by seven of the conference's basketball schools to form their own league. If Boise State is deciding staying in the MWC is a better long-term decision, than the Big East may be even less stable than originally thought. (via ESPN)
