Found June 08, 2013 on MLB Injury News:
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly told Ken Gurnick of MLB.com that he believes center fielder Matt Kemp will be ready to return from the disabled list when he’s eligible to be activated on June 15. Mattingly said he believes Matt Kemp will return June 14, his first day eligible. He will play in a rehab game first. — Ken Gurnick (@kengurnick) June 7, 2013 Prior to being activated, Mattingly said the Dodgers will first have Kemp play in a rehab game. Kemp suffered his injury during a May 29 contest against the Los Angeles Angels. It appeared to be similar to the ailment that sidelined him for two months last season, but it seems as if he’ll make it back close to the two-week minimum this time. Prior to sustaining the injury, Kemp was off to an extremely slow start. The 28-year-old was hitting .251/.305/.335 with 10 doubles and only two home runs over 210 plate appearances. Dodger Downer: Akward Slide May Have Injured Yasiel Puig

For a few seconds during Saturday night’s game, the Los Angeles Dodgers and their fans had a moment of panic. In the bottom of the eighth inning Dodgers super prospect Yasiel Puig slid head first trying to beat a throw on a close play at first base. Puig was safe but it appeared that he jammed his left hand and shoulder when he came into contact with the bag. When he popped up...

Vin Scully's outstanding, understated call of Yasiel Puig's grand slam

Dodgers rookie outfielder Yasiel Puig hit a grand slam against the Braves last night, his third homer in four major league games, and the Dodgers won the game 5-0 due in large part to the grand slam. Vin Scully's call of the homer was pretty much perfect, as after he freaked out when the ball left the yard, he let the crowd's cheering take over. We've seen that happen...

Dodgers: Matt Magill to start Sunday in place of Ted Lilly

Ted Lilly will not make his scheduled Sunday start against the Atlanta Braves. Lilly is dealing with a neck issue and has made just five starts this season after beginning the year late due to a strained rib cage. In Lilly’s place the Dodgers will start Matt Magill. Despite another good performance by a starter, the Los Angeles Dodgers were unable give Stephen Fife a victory as the team fell to the Atlanta Braves 2-1 on Saturday night. Fife has now surrendered two or fewer runs in seven of his eight career starts as he only allowed a pair of solo homers. Dan Uggla and Braves starter Kris Medlen did the damage in the top of the fifth. Lasting...

Dodgers Keep The Puig Train Rolling

Say what you want but I choose to believe that the first walk-off win for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013 was due to the fact that Yasiel Puig was on deck. All joking aside the Dodgers are now 4-1 since Puig was called up as they get the win over the Atlanta Braves 2-1 in ten innings Friday night. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been outstanding in his rookie campaign now with a 2.72 ERA including...

Puig’s impact on Dodgers may be similar to Trout’s on 2012 Angels

Little can be said about the first impression Dodgers rookie RF Yasiel Puig has made on MLB and its fans. Due to injuries to OFs Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford, the Cuban defector has gotten a call to the majors a little earlier than expected. While his performance has been a surprise to most, he did sign a 7 year, $42 million deal with the Dodgers last year. Criticism of the Los Angeles...
