Golden St8-a-Mind ...
We as Warrior fans want to bring winning back to "The Bay Area", rite? Rite!
Well here is my take on the solution ...
1st let me start by saying I've been an avid Warriors fan since I 1st picked up a basketball (@ least from what I remember). I was even a ballboy for a few games thanks to Phils camp, where I was bumping elbows with the likes of Darrel Griffith & Bill Cartwright-still @ USF. Some of you that know me, can remember me screaming MJ, but I always had love for the "W's". They just were'nt winning, I had nothing to cheer about. But kept up w/all the players & stats, @ least the ones (franchise players- to many to name) that weren't getting traded away. Plus I grew up reading The Chronicles Sporting Green like my Pops. You see my GodFather (Big-Ben) was brother to Phil Smith (R.I.P.), rookie shooting guard for the '75 CHAMPS. So for a long time, all I knew was the Warriors. That's until I seen Dr. J, best thing since sliced bread.
The news paper read "Warriors Are Up For Sale", & have a few parties interested in buying the club. My 1st thought was, GOOD ... Now lets shake up the whole organization starting with the front office (that has always been a joke, every since I can remember hearing my Pops & GodFather talking about it ... accept for Al Attles, mean 'ol man, I thought as a youngster, made me sit in a chair position w/no chair for 5 min. @ the tender age of 8 @ Phils b-ball camp ... Luv ya Al & thnx) So as I kept reading, one of the parties interested was a financial group backing Jerry West. "JERRY WEST" ya'll ... the LOGO. Come on now, it's not rocket science - see what he did w/the Lakers (Kobe)? Memphis (playoffs)? & still had his hands on the Lakers post-Shaq ring (P. Gasol)? Well as I continued to read, it wasn't as simple as ABC. You see the name-sake for Oracle Arena Larry Ellison has been trying to purchase the team since last season, but owner Chris Cohen didn't want to sell @ that time. Well now, Mr. Cohen is in a little bit of a financial situation (back taxes). He now wants to sell the team, but not necessarily to Mr. Ellison @ the same bid (CC wants more $, which is understandable from a business perspective). So now we have an open bid w/some investors from China & others (must've not been to important, can't remember or is it I'm just stuck on THE LOGO). My suggestion is CC, do the right thing & sit down w/Mr. Ellison & The LOGO as a joint venture to negotiate a fair number for both parties involved. Best solution going ... Mr. Ellison can have his ownership (partly) & Mr. West can control operations firing everybody in the front office, once again, accept for Al Attles ... Even bringing back Chris Mullins. I discuused this w/my GodBrother & he asked who would be the coach, Byron Scott ... & I said "HELL YEAH" Do you know that everybody would want to come here & play for the LOGO !!!
I really don't know how to get this ball rolling, but I sure want it out there for all to see !!!
