Found August 07, 2013 on Celtics Life:
After speaking with Jared Sullinger yesterday, the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn reports that Sullinger is "pain free, although with soreness."  The Celtics second year power forward had lumbar disc surgery on his back on February 1st, and it's been a long road to recovery.  He spent time bedridden watching the Lion King, cleaning out his closet, and working a shift at Taco Bell; but now is ready to get back on the court.  Here's what Sullinger had to say: "I’m taking it as slow as possible because today is another day to get healthy. It’s a slow process but I’m good, getting back into it. I’ve been ready [for training camp], just give me about two more months to be a little smaller. I’ve been cleared to play. I’ve been cleared to have contact so I will be ready by Sept. 30. I’ve never had an injury like this in my life and it’s pretty cool that I get to go through a little more adversity than I already have, I find it fun. The first problem I had was the ...

Boston Celtics: The latest and greatest rumor talk

This off-season for the Celtics has been very interesting to say the least. Since early June, things have quieted down significantly, and this seems to be the team that the C’s are going to take into this season. With the roster being so bare this upcoming season, the Celtics have hardly any nationally televised games, and most fans will have to buy NBA league pass to watch their...

The time is now for Jeff Green

It's put up or shut up time for Jeff Green. During Green's five-year career, he's always been seen as a player with superstar talent who has never quite lived up to his potential. Some of that criticism may be warranted as Green has yet to really breakout, but he's never been in the right situation to showcase his talents. In Oklahoma City, he was battling for touches...

Video: Long lost CelticsLife Intro video

So I just stumbled across this and figured, hey, nothing else is going on, why not share it with the world? Or at least the slice of the world that reads our site. This was the intro video I created for our CelticsLife Live show awhile back. Of course, I was thinking that we could play it before the show started on the broadcast, no such luck! Maybe one day. Anyway, here it is...

Why you should watch the Celtics this season

Can they make it work? With the release of the NBA schedule a few hours ago, the reality of what may very well be a difficult season hits home.  While most of the people reading this(hopefully) are die hard Celtics fans through thick and thin, the truth is many fans will not follow the Celtics as closely this year because they probably won't be contenders.  This makes me sad...

Boston Celtics' Schedule Features Emotional Roller Coasters

Although the first season of the Boston Celtics' rebuilding stage has yet to begin, the newly-released NBA schedule serves as a blatant reminder that the KG and Pierce era has ended.   The 1,230-game schedule, announced Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET, glaringly reveals how competitive the league considers Boston's current squad. For starters, their opening game will be against the...

Paul Pierce paints a rosy picture of the Celtics break-up

Adam Figman of SLAM Online interviewed Paul Pierce who spoke a lot about his transition to a new team and city, and a little bit about the Celtics: SLAM: I imagine the return to Boston will be pretty emotional. PP: Oh it’s definitely gonna be emotional. You spend almost half of your life in Boston, so a lot of emotions are gonna run deep, because of friends and the things you...

Boston Celtics: What They Should Have Received In Trade From Nets

Boston Celtics: What They Should Have Received In Trade From Nets By Jordan Van Beek: Hoopstuff Writer… The blockbuster trade on draft day between the Celtics and Nets wasn’t really fair for the Celtics. They got rid of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry and D.J. White and got the expiring contract of Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace and his big contract, Keith Bogans, MarShon...

Your Morning Dump… Where Robert Parish has advice for Paul Pierce and hope for Rajon Rondo

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. So how’d that Hornets jersey feel? “Un-com-fortable,” Parish said. “In my mind, I would always be a Celtic. I was very thankful and humbled that the Hornets saw fit to allow me to play a couple more years...

Predicting the Celtics Week 1 W-L, Oct. 30-Nov.6

Earlier this afternoon the NBA released the schedule for the 2013-14 campaign and, if you're a Boston Celtics fan, there were more disappointments than anything else. For starters, the guys in green are only slated to appear on national television three times this year, all of which will be aired on ESPN. What's more, the first month of 2013-14 will prove to be a rocky road...

SQ13#55—The Smolder To Be Mediocre

The stories are legendary of players with such an inner drive that they elevated themselves from good to great.  Bird and Russell, Jordan, Bryant, Olajuwon, Garnett—all these players improved by leaps and bounds after entering the pros, and were known for their dedication to offseason training.  All had physical gifts, but so do hundreds of others that were (or should have been...
