The fashion police should have come for Joakim Noah long ago. The unshaven, wild-haired center for the Chicago Bulls has never been the cleanest-cut person in the world, and it sometimes seems like his offensive skills stem largely from his defender’s unwillingness to touch him.
Noah finally pushed a bit too far on Monday. He was escorted off the bench in the second quarter of the Bulls’ loss to Indiana, and later told reporters that he was asked to change clothes to conform to the NBA’s dress code. Noah’s hooded sweater (or “shawl,” as one observer referred to it) apparently ran afoul of the rules, which stipulate that a player must wear “business casual” attire such as a dress shirt, sport coat, slacks, khakis, dress jeans or… a sweater.
Anyway, the absurd situation of a grown man having to be escorted away to change clothes resurrected the eight-year-old argument about the dress code being the worst thing in the history of mankind. Implemented prior to the 2005-06 season as...
BEST OF MAXIM
Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah, currently not in the lineup as he continues to deal with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, ran afoul of the NBA’s apparently stringent dress code policies on Monday while seated on the bench during the team’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
Nattily attired — by most standards, as you can see above — in a nice grey sweater, a tasteful...
Tweet The Chicago Bulls were in Indianapolis Monday for a matchup with the Indiana Pacers and for the third game in a row the Bulls were without All-Star center Joakim Noah due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Noah, who traveled with the team, chose to sport an interesting ensemble to take in [...]
From a Yahoo Ball Don't Lie article:
On Monday night, an NBA employee asked that injured Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah leave his team’s bench because his outfit was deemed unacceptable by the NBA.
Here's what Noah was wearing:
The NBA has a rule that states all inactive players must wear a sportcoat/jacket when sitting on the bench. Apparently that sweater was...
At 98-94 with under 2 minutes to go, the undermanned Bulls seemed to be gaining momentum on Monday night until a 50/50 ball flew out of bounds and the refs called Indiana ball without hesitation and oddly refused to review the play, drawing criticism from the visiting locker room who ultimately succumbed 111-101.
According to CSN Chicago:
“What’s the rule? Under two minutes,...
His numbers don’t speak volumes, 7 points and 5 assists per game, but Kirk Hinrich is the Chicago Bulls’ floor general on both sides of the ball with Derrick Rose sidelined – and he will join Rose in the training room for games for at least one week with an elbow infection that flared up from a previous injury last month.
According to ESPN.com:
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said...
David West scored 29 points and Paul George had 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, leading the Indiana Pacers past the short-handed Chicago Bulls 111-101 on Monday night, and into a share of the Central Division lead.
The Pacers won their third straight to tie the Bulls for the division lead and extend their home winning streak to 14, matching the team's longest since...
Monday, February 4th: Bulls @ Pacers, 7:00 ET, NBALP: It’s an eight-game Monday tonight, which is different, but there still aren’t any choices that really stand out as far as probable entertainment value… which is pretty much what I look for in my selections. That said, Chicago at Indiana should be exciting in the sense that it figures to be a hard-fought battle between...
Lee once again proves why he's an All Star
ArizonaSports.com: No sooner than you can start to wonder, “is Michael Beasley finally getting his **** together?,” he goes and gets busted for doing 26 miles over the limit in an unregistered vehicle with a suspended license and a gun in the console. To his credit, the notorious weed smoker passed a sobriety test and somehow managed to basically smooth talk his way out of...
