Oregon's pick at quarterback in the 2014 recruiting class, Morgan Mahalak of Marin Catholic High in Kentfield, California, looked crisp and in command throwing the football in the Wildcats 56-7 victory over Tam this Saturday. Playing only the first half in the blowout, Mahalak was 12-13 passing for 239 yards, including a 57-yard scoring toss to favorite target Andrew Celis. Marin is 4-0 on the young season. They host Terra Linda this week. (247sports.com photo) North Coast Section champions last season with current Cal Bear quarterback Jared Goff at the helm, the team hasn't lost a beat with first-year starter Mahalak, who gave his verbal commitment to the Oregon staff on April 30. The 6-3, 190-lb. senior is a 3-star recruit, an Elite 11 semi-finalist this summer.
