Found October 11, 2013 on Red's Army:
Tonight’s Celtics-Sixers game in Delaware started off as your typical preseason contest. Sloppy. The two teams combined for 11 turnovers in the first quarter and shot an atrocius 14 of 41 from the field. Boston did however finish quarter one with a lead for the first time this preseason, 21-20. They had a pretty balanced attack, with seven different Celtics scoring in the quarter. Then things went from sloppy to just plain ugly for Boston. Behind Spencer Hawes’ 13 second quarter points, and Boston’s abysmal 6 of 20 shooting, (including 0 of 5 from downtown) the C’s went into the half down 54-38. The second quarter was the difference maker tonight as Philly dropped 34 points on Boston. The C’s looked impatient-chucking up jumpers and playing lackluster defense. Philly dominated in the painted area, outscoring Boston 30-12 down low. The Sixers finished the half on a 14-3 run and went into halftime up 54-38. The Celtics managed to outscore Philly 19-18 in the 3rd, but more sloppy play,...

Phil Pressey raising eyebrows in point guard battle

The Boston Celtics lost a wild one on Wednesday night in Providence to the New York Knicks 103-102. But they may have discovered a key member of this team, especially in the absence of Rajon Rondo. Phil Pressey led the team with 13 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes of action (to go along with no turnovers). Here of some quotes from CSNNE after Wednesday...

Jeff Green's scoring is essential to the Boston Celtics early success

Jeff Green has experienced his share of ups and downs in Boston. After the young, talented scorer was traded to the Celtics in exchange for fan-favorite Kendrick Perkins almost 50 games into the 2010-11 season, Green underwent a tough adjustment phase. In particular, he saw his minutes dramatically fall from the 37.0 per-game he was getting in Oklahoma City to only 23.5 with the...

Practice Update for 10/10

Both MarShon Brooks (migraine) and Jordan Crawford (death in the family) who missed Tuesday's practice were in attendance at today's practice. Brad Stevens has the entire #Celtics team going through 3-point shooting drills. Every. Single. Player. — Marc D'Amico (@Marc_DAmico) October 10, 2013 Very interesting that every player was out...

Getting Bass to basics

Brandon Bass is one of my favourite Celtic players when he’s getting the job done on defense, it’s amazing how a power forward with his physique has managed to defend the likes of dominant players like LeBron and Melo with nothing but hustle and solid footwork. Next up, offense. Stone cold mid-range jumpshots, swishing one after another. Getting inside with one dribble and dunking...

The Mark Blount Award: Vote in our poll, which Celtic will infuriate fans the most this year?

With the pre-season officially upon us, we here at CelticsLife thought it would be fun to dish out some pre-season award predictions for the Celtics. We came up with eight awards (four positive, four not-so-positive), and will be giving out writer predictions on each of them over the next week or so. These awards will be named after Celtics greats (and not-so-greats), and hopefully...

Phil Pressey has solid Friday for Celtics

Boston Celtics player Phil Pressey had a good Friday evening scoring six points while recording four rebounds, five assists and two steals. Pressey played 18 minutes for the Celtics on Friday and could make the roster as a backup.

Live Game Updates - Knicks 10/12

End first: After one quarter in Manchester, the Celtics lead the Knicks, 28-15. The C's started this one off with a 10-0 run, but since then have slowed down a little. They're still playing well, but not as amazing as earlier. Anyway, Jordan Crawford's currently leading them with 7 points. Keep watching.  [Discuss on CG Forums!]

And in other news... VITOR!

Last night's 103-102 loss to the New York Knicks was full of positives. Well- the end of the game was. The end of the game saw the Celtics cut a 23 point lead down to 1 in the midst of a 20-4 run to close the four quarter. Many of those sparks came from Celtics new big, Vitor Faverani. Faverani has 9 points, 3 standing ovations from the Celtics bench, 2 slam dunks and 1 step...

Celtics Circuit: Is Brad Stevens the Right Man for the Job?

Can Brad Stevens develop the Boston Celtics into a title contender again? There were thirteen coaching changes in the NBA this off-season and the biggest surprise was when the Boston Celtics hired Brad Stevens. After Doc Rivers was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers for a 2014 unprotected first-round pick, the speculation increased that the Celtics would bring in a young coach because...

Throwback Thursday: Celtics shock Bulls on Opening Night

It was Opening Night of the 1997-98 season. The Celtics and Bulls were at opposite ends of the spectrum. The C’s were coming off a dismal 15-67 season, with hopes that new coach Rick Pitino could inject some life into a comatose franchise. The Chicago Bulls on the other hand were riding high. Four months earlier, they beat the Utah Jazz to win their second straight NBA title,...

Boston Celtics: Season Preview and Predictions

Boston Celtics: Season Preview and Predictions Brandon Hartman: VP of Content/Hoopstuff Wizards Season Prediction: 11th in Eastern Conference Season Analysis: The Celtics should be very grateful to the Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots for taking the attention of Boston away from them for a year. After trading away longtime stars, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, the Celtics and their...

PREVIEW: Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers

Your Morning Dump… Where it didn’t take long to be underwhelmed by Jeff Green

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  “Jeff’s fine,” Stevens said. “We’re not going to start Jeff tonight, but that has nothing to do with Jeff. It has everything to do with what we want to tinker with. We’re asking him to do a lot. We...

Live Game Updates - 76ers 10/11

3:07 3rd: With just over three minutes left in the third quarter, the Celtics are behind, 66-53. The C's led for the majority of the first quarter tonight, but since then things have been really tough. It's just preseason, but this is terrible. Anyway, that's the score. Keep watching.  [Discuss on CG Forums!]
