Brad Ausmus might not have played much in the past two years, but he brought a stabilizing influence to a young Dodgers team. In July, after returning from back surgery that landed him on the disabled list for the first time in his 16-year career, Ausmus announced his upcoming retirement. Though he never caught the headlines, Ausmus has been a durable, brilliant, and well-respected catcher, and the game of baseball will miss him.
