The Michigan State softball team wrapped up the final day of the 2012 Combat Classic losing to UAB 3-2 on Sunday (Feb. 12). The Spartans (1-4) rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning to come within one but couldn't hold off the Blazers, who advanced to 2-2 on the season.

Senior Porsche Poole led the Spartans for the fifth-straight game with 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Senior Lykendra Johnson, who tallied eight rebounds, moved into second place on the MSU career rebound list with 965.

Green Earns His Third Big Ten Weekly Honor

Michigan State men's basketball senior forward Draymond Green was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Feb. 13. Green averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in MSU's victories over Penn State and at No. 3 Ohio State. This is the third weekly honor of the season for Green, and the fourth of his career.
