This is a little weird. Mickael Pietrus, under contract with the Raptors (currently taking on the C's), met with the Boston media before tonight's game - and basically declared his love for the Celtics. Take a look (video courtesy CLNS radio). CLNS also had a breakdown of the quotes, in which Pietrus gushed over his time in Boston, and all but begged for a Boston return. From CLNS (link).  “I would love to play here,” Pietrus said. “I love those guys in the locker room. KG and Paul Pierce. Every time they make a championship run, it would be great for me to play for them.” ... “I can’t get over it!” Pietrus exclaimed when asked how long it took him to get over the Celtics passing on him. “I’ll be honest with you. I can’t believe it. I just can’t. Boston was what I need to do [sic]. Fight, protect your jersey and that’s how I like to do. It is what it is. But, I’m very happy to see the guys back and you never know, hopefully I’ll be back. You never know. Cross your

Doc to the media following tonight's loss: 'If I could've put one of you guys in, I would've'

About the only positive that can be drawn after the worst effort of the season for the Celtics, was this Doc Rivers quote following the game. Courtesy the Boston Globe's Baxter Holmes. Doc told reporters after the game, "If I could’ve put one of you guys in, I would’ve." #celtics — Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) March 13, 2013 Honestly I would have rather seen...

Pacers media knows Boston isn’t a good match up

Pacers reporter Mike Wells of the Indy Star was asked which team the Pacers should avoid in the 1st round of the playoffs? I still say it’s Boston over any other team the Pacers could face in the first round. The Celtics are 2-0 against the Pacers this season and you can never shortchange any team that’s coached by Doc Rivers and has Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, both future...

Paul Pierce to get night off vs. Bobcats?

From CSNNE's Greg Dickerson: Hearing Paul pierce may have tonight off for rest — greg dickerson (@gdickerson_csn) March 12, 2013 If Dickerson is right, this seems like a well timed and wise decision by Doc.  The last time he rested one of his stars the KG-less C's played one of their better offensive games of the season, blowing out the Suns 113-88 in Phoenix in the...

Your Morning Dump… Where Avery Bradley messes with people’s heads

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “It’s like Scottie Pippen — when you played the Bulls, you were praying that, ‘I hope he guards the other guy tonight,’ ” explained Rivers. “Because [Pippen] was one of those guys that could guard...

Strong Celtics bench provides chance to compete with Miami

The Boston Celtics are steadily morphing their roster into the small-ball nature of the league. It is a place where players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and James Harden rule the day. For Boston it has to be Jeff Green who assumes that role. His skill set can make him be that star that they need to put alongside Rondo. He can't be content to just make it back. He has to...

Comments from the Other Side - Raptors 3/13

It was sad to see 4 pages on one game thread and 19 on another.   Those game threads used to have over 100 pages every game.  The Celtics did get the benefit of some calls last night.     I'm amazed at how many fans hate their head coach.   Makes me very thankful for Doc.  Good game for the Celtics.  Not so much for the Raptors.  Enjoy today's comments...   This...

Photo Gallery: Celtics-Raptors

Great night for the TD Garden crowd on Wednesday, as they got to see both Pierce & Garnett reach milestones & the Celtics trounce Toronto. 112-88 was the final. Boston is off until they play host to Charlotte in a rare Saturday night game at the Garden. C’s-Bobcats tips-off at 7:30pm EST. Check out some great pics & GIFs of KG & Paul enjoying Gino and a grainy,...

Recap: Entire Celtics roster takes the night off in Charlotte

The joke was on us tonight. Doc Rivers didn’t just give Paul Pierce the night off, he rested the entire team. That’s the only reasonable explanation for the effort the Celtics gave tonight in Charlotte. The C’s were annihilated by the lowly Bobcats, 100-74. It wasn’t even that close. Gerald Henderson torched the Celtics for a career high 35 points. I was half-joking when...

Celtics blow out the Raptors, 112-88

Jeff Green chipped in 20 points Yahoo Boxscore Game Summary: The Celtics started the game off decently, playing solid defense and making the most of their shots. Eventually the Raptors broke through to make a run. But the way the Celtics played was decent enough, although the offense looked a bit ugly. In the second quarter, the gameplay continued to be ugly. Neither team could...

Bobcats beatdown: Charlotte crushes Boston Celtics 100-74

Charlotte embarrassed the Celtics tonight. Final: Charlotte 100, Boston 74. For real.44 minutes ago via TweetDeckReplyRetweetFavorite@BaxterHolmesBaxter HolmesThere are a lot of numbers I could bring up to show how bad that game was (Kevin Garnett shot 2-10, the Celtics were 4-13 from 3-point range, and the Bobcats grabbed 16 offensive rebounds away from the Celtics). But…I just...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Bobcats 3/12

Tonight's game was pathetic to watch. I feel embarrassed for the Celtics right now. It was the f****** Bobcats! They were handed this win. Obviously, they just didn't want it. Tonight's USOTN goes to the record of the Bobcats. We all know that the Bobcats suck, but this year they really suck. They went into tonight with an NBA-worst 13-50. You have to win these games...

Raptors Not Considering Amnesty Of Bargnani
