Following Sunday’s loss to the Colts, Stevie Johnson said he wants coach Chan Gailey to give up play-calling duties.Johnson posted a 6/106/0 line, but he wasn’t happy afterward. “How I see it, I think we need to let our quarterback call these plays,” he said. “He’s out there on the field. He sees the adjustments that need to be done.” Gailey is accustomed to Johnson’s antics. He’s unlikely to take offense or reprimand his top wideout for spouting off at the mouth publicly.
As a Bills fan, I understand his frustration, but was he right? Is this something that should stay in house? I mean the guy has had some pretty poor calls over the past few weeks. What do Bills fans think?

NFL Rumors: Does Stevie Johnson Want Buffalo Bills To Replace Chan Gailey?
If Stevie Johnson gets his way, then Chan Gailey will no longer be calling the plays on offense for the Buffalo Bills. It is not as if the enigmatic wide receiver wants the Bills to fire their head coach, but rather for Gailey to give up the play calling on offense and hand them over to someone else.
Of course, Johnson wants that someone else to be starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick...
Stevie Johnson wants Ryan Fitzpatrick calling plays over Chan Gailey
The Buffalo Bills fell to the Indianapolis Colts 20-13 on Sunday for their fourth loss in five games, and wide receiver Stevie Johnson wants some changes.
Johnson said after the game that he would like to see quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick begin calling more plays instead of head coach Chan Gailey.
“How I see it, I think we need to let our quarterback call these plays,” Johnson...
Johnson backtracks on coach criticism
Receiver Stevie Johnson and the Buffalo Bills' offense suddenly have one thing in common. Both are moving in reverse.
Johnson on Monday backpedaled away from comments he made a day earlier, when he questioned coach Chan Gailey's play calling following a 20-13 loss at Indianapolis. Johnson now says he misspoke.
Rather than suggesting Ryan Fitzpatrick should take over more...
Stephon Gilmore wins a bet with CJ Spiller, Spiller a Gamecock?
The Carolina-Clemson rivalry got the best of former Tiger C.J. Spiller over the weekend.
Buffalo Bills teammate Stephon Gilmore, a former USC player of course, tweeted the above picture as part of bet that Spiller lost involving their former teams and the rivalry matchup this past Saturday.
Via Twitter, Gilmore wrote: “The moment you have all been waiting for. C.J. Spiller has...
Stevie Johnson Wants QB Calling Plays Instead of Coach
There may be a mutiny brewing in Buffalo in regards to who should be the Bills offensive coordinator. The Buffalo News is reporting that the team’s eccentric wide receiver Stevie Johnson has had enough of the team’s inconsistent play-calling, and would like head coach Chan Gailey to leave the offensive duties to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
“How I see it, I think we need...
Stevie Johnson thinks Ryan Fitzpatrick should be calling plays
Being a resident of Western New York, I have many friends who are Buffalo Bills fans. I have watched their frustration pile up as the the Bills dropped to 4-7 after a sluggish 20-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts Sunday. Blame is all over the place, but success always starts and ends from the top down. Head Coach Chan Gailey, who also doubles as the team’s play-caller, has been...
Lack of big-play passing game hurting Bills' offense
BY DAN BEGNOCHEQuarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had his fair share of missed opportunities downfield in the Buffalo's Bills' loss on Sunday. That seems to be becoming a nasty habit for the veteran signal-caller.While Fitzpatrick connected with wide receiver Stevie Johnson for a 63-yard strike that lead to a field goal, he missed more than one deep throw that could have turned...
Mario finally showing up, earning some of that $100M
The Buffalo Bills lost a game Sunday, but they gained something else. Call it what you will. Defensive end Mario Williams, who was invisible through the first part of the season but has been finding himself as of late, had a sort of coming-out party during the Bills' 20-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Williams accounted for three of Buffalo's four sacks on Andrew Luck...
C.J. Spiller To Handle 60 Percent of Carries
Bills coach Chan Gailey says C.J. Spiller will receive 60 percent of the carries going forward with Fred Jackson getting the other 40 percent. SOURCE: Tim Graham, Buffalo News.Fantasy Spin:Spiller is approaching his first 1,000 yard season having surpassed Jackson as the featured back in Buffalo. Unfortunately, he's encountered a bit of a touchdown drought. He hasn't scored...
Colts sign S Howell; OG Olsen to practice
Rookie safety Delano Howell was signed to the Indianapolis Colts' active roster from the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills. Howell entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Stanford. He played in one game with the Bills and was waived, then re-signed, twice. Offensive guard Seth Olsen was cleared to return to practice, but remains on injured reserve. Olsen has...
STATS MAN: Steelers Pass Defense Second to None
Despite the fact that the 1978 Buffalo Bills were not a very good team, they hold a prestigious modern-day NFL team record (essentially by default). The Chuck Knox-coached Bills finished 5-11, with opposing teams licking their chops in anticipation of pounding the ball against the porous Bills rushing defense; that season, Buffalo allowed an average of 201.8 rushing YPG, and allowed...
Bills Vs Jaguars To Be Blacked Out Locally
The Buffalo Bills will have their first blacked out home game of the season Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but two more blackouts are likely forthcoming.
We figured the Buffalo Bills would be in trouble when, upon their schedule being made publicly available in May, it was revealed that the team had three home games in December. The first of those games comes this weekend...
Chan Gailey's Ego is killing Buffalo
"You can win the World Series without Babe Ruth.''
On a few occasions, Chan Gailey would tell his coaches this before the Bills hired him as coach. Now, you could view it as being a way to say we can get a team full of good players and win without a star player. It is a team game, right? Standard coach speaking. However, after about two and half seasons worth of...
Game Recap: Colts 20, Bills 13
The slimmest of slim playoff hopes hung in the balance entering this week. Those hopes were still in play late into the fourth quarter before being, quite literally, punted away.
Chan Gailey twice punted in situations where he could have pressed to put points on the board, once in the first half from the Indianapolis 34 and again late in the game on fourth and eight at...
Third-down woes continue to doom Bills, Jets
The Buffalo Bills entered Sunday's AFC contest against the Indianapolis Colts with the NFL's worst third-down defense, and they made good on their reputation. Buffalo allowed the Colts to convert on eight of 16 third-down attempts. Conversely, the Bills moved the chains on just four of 13 third-down tries. The New York Jets haven't been able to get off the field lately...
