TEAMS: Philadelphia Phillies
Imagine for a second a world in which Carlos Ruiz hits .325, Ryan Howard hits 58 bombs, Chase Utley knocks in 100 runs, Rollins recreates his MVP season, Michael Young leads the league in hits, and Darin Ruf and Domonic Brown live up to the hype. In this imaginary land, Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee are Cy Young candidates once again, Cole Hamels has a 2.79 ERA, and Kyle Kendrick has a 3.22 ERA....

Adams is set to earn $12 million over two seasons from the Phillies. If he makes 65 appearances in 2014 — as he’s done just twice in eight seasons — his $6 million option for 2015 vests...
Phillies Odds and Ends: Hairston unlikely, platoon’s set, Ruf the man
Darin Ruf, Phillies everyday left fielder?
The Phillies appear that they have their outfield set for the 2013 season. The trade talk as dwindled down quite a bit in the last month and the names left, well there are few. The last of the names being Scott Hairston, is just a name and a highly unlikely signing. If you think the Phillies have their eyes on him, well take a good look...

Aumont, Gillies, Orr Named to Team Canada
Aumont will be joined by teammates Gillies and Orr on Team Canada's 23-man roster.
Canada was among the first countries to submit their provisional 23-man World Baseball Classic rosters and it has a distinctly Phillies’ flavor. Reliever Phillippe Aumont will look to recreate the magic of his 2009 appearance on Team Canada and is joined by Phillies OF prospect Tyson Gillies...
Why I Love the Phillies – Donna
I can’t say when my love for the Phils began, just as I can’t say when I started to talk, walk, and all of the other important things that are basic in life. They have always been there, as essential as breathing. I could say I love them because I was born in Philly, but then I should feel the same for the Eagles, Sixers, and Flyers, but I don’t. Baseball appeals to me in an...

It’s time, once again, to travel around the globe as we review how Phillies talents are performing in off-season and winter leagues. Be warned that news is becoming quite limited, as the closer things get to spring training, the less there is to report.

Charlie Manuel Will Probably Use His First Cell Phone This Year
If you've never seen the video of Ozzie Guillen signaling for his closer, Bobby Jenks, in the 2005 playoffs, it's certainly worth a search. When issues arose with the bullpen phone, Guillen made giant circular motions with his hands to signal the big righty to the mound. Without those issues,...
Ruiz, Singleton suspended 50 games. Dumb.
Unless you’re a die-hard Astros fan, and who’s going to admit to that, you’ve probably never heard of Jonathan Singleton. Until two days ago, I never had.  Like millions of baseball fans, I have heard of Carlos Ruiz. I had the Phillies catcher on one of my fantasy teams last season.  What could [...]
