It has been awhile since Michigan St students attempted to reclaim their spot at the top of couch burning schools in the nation. But following Tuesday night’s loss to the Hoosiers, some Spartans fans took to their favorite activity following a big game loss: East Lansing firefighters and police responded to three couch fires and a dumpter fire between 10-11 p.m. Tuesday night in the Cedar Village area, including on Cedar Street. Unfortunately, for those hoping to create absolute chaos, similar to that of the riots following MSU’s loss to Duke in the 1999 Final Four, the weather did not cooperate. According to officials, the cold weather kept large crowds away, as only a handful of individuals were outside taking pictures and/videos of the furniture burning. This was a blip, considering the damage students and East Lansing residents caused in 1998 following the university banning alcohol at Munn Field tailgates and the aforementioned Duke game riot which caused nearly $500,000 in dam...

MSU priest posts questionable tweet

The chaplain for Michigan State's football team posted a tweet on Tuesday in advance of the Spartans-Hoosiers basketball game that is sure to stir up some controversy.
