Alabama offensive lineman Barrett Jones has won the William V. Campbell Trophy, given to the top scholar-athlete in college football. Jones was announced as the winner Tuesday night at the National Football Foundation's Hall of Fame induction and awards banquet in Manhattan. The senior played center for the second-ranked Crimson Tide this season, and is a four-year starter who has been a standout across the line. He played mostly at tackle last season and was an All-American. He majors in accounting and has a 4.0. Jones already received an $18,000 scholarship for post-graduate studies for being one of 15 finalists. As the winner he receives another $7,000 in scholarship money.
