Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Geno Smith was arrested overnight on a DUI charge. His bond was set at $1,000. Details of the arrest have not yet been released by the Tuscaloosa County sheriff’s office. Smith was a 5-star rated cornerback when he was recruited out of an Atlanta High School. Last season as a freshman he played in all 13 games and recorded nine tackles and broke up a couple passes. The Crimson Tide arrest follows on the heels of Auburn defensive back Demetruce McNeal, who was arrested on a marijuana possession charged. It will be interesting to see of Alabama head coach Nick Saban acts as quickly and decisively as Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and boots Smith off the team. The Associated Press Top 25 was released this morning. I correctly projected all teams in the top 10 earlier this month and the exact rank of five teams. For the other teams in the top 10, I was only one spot off on four schools’ exact rank and I was off most on Texas A&M at two spots. Negative publicity made the ranking of the Aggies most volatile and likely caused them...
