In all of college football, Louisville is one of the schools most likely to run the table this season, but despite an overall weak conference, the Cardinals will have some hurdles to jump over along the way. Cincinnati, Rutgers, and UCF are all projected to tie for second in the conference and are formable foes for Louisville. Overall, half of the league is picked to become bowl eligible. SMU is projected at the exact wins for eligibility and it is not very probable for any of the teams in the lower half to reach six wins. South Florida will improve over time and Willie Taggart is a good coach, but it will take more than one offseason for the Bulls to make it back to a bowl.   American Athletic Conference Projected Records Team, Overall Record, Conference Record Louisville 12-0 (8-0) Cincinnati 10-2 (6-2)Rutgers 9-3 (6-2)Central Florida 8-4 (6-2)SMU 6-6 (5-3)Connecticut 4-8 (2-6)Houston 3-9 (2-6)South Florida 4-8 (2-6)Memphis 2-10 (1-7)Temple 4-8 (1-7) Projected Conference Cham...

Tuberville hasn't settled on QB for Purdue opener

Coach Tommy Tuberville hasn't picked a quarterback for Cincinnati's season opener on Saturday against Purdue. Brendon Kay and Munchie Legaux had minor injuries during the Bearcats' camp and neither one ran the offense smoothly enough for Tuberville to name one the starter. He said on Tuesday that he plans to choose one later in the week, but both are likely to play....

Senorise Perry Will Start At Running Back In Louisville’s Season Opener

The official depth chart that was released via the University of Louisville’s website last night indicates that Dominique Brown, Senorise Perry and Michael Dyer could all three start for the Cardinals season opener against Ohio on Sunday. Regardless what the depth chart says, we all know that only one running back will be running onto the field with the first team offense on Sunday...

Louisville Football Position Preview: Defensive Line

As an opponent to the University of Louisville football program this season one of my biggest concerns may be an area that likely doesn’t get enough consideration.  The Defensive Line. With the interior presence of veterans Brandon Dunn and Roy Philon you have the nucleus of the line that defines strength within.  The two modest size anchors combine for 590 pounds of force up...

Strong: Polls are secondary to playing your best

Expectations are high for the 2013 University of Louisville football team but Charlie Strong says he’s not feeling any pressure to win “a certain way” in order to  impress the voters in the college football polls. “No I really don’t. I tell our players, ‘As long as our coaches prepare you the right way and you go out with the right mental approach to the game. On that...

Getting to Know the 2013 Bearcats: Defensive Line

Welcome to the first defensive edition of Getting to Know the 2013 Bearcats. I have gone through the trouble of separating the ends and the tackles just because I care about all of you. The players simply listed as DL went as tackles because that's fair enough. I haven't actually done any of that yet because I'm writing this first. Sometimes I'll write the opening...

Update: Lorenzo Mauldin At Jewish Hospital In “Satisfactory Condition”

Louisville junior defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin was the victim of a hit & run accident this morning on the University of Louisville’s campus. Taking a look at the Louisville depth chart: Defense

I already gave some thoughts on the Louisville offense, now let’s talk about the defense. Along the defensive front, no shockers here. Louisville will have Lorenzo Mauldin and Marcus Smith starting at defensive end, with Brandon Dunn and Roy Philon holding it down in the middle. I expect those four to be very productive for the Cards this year, and in particular, I believe Marcus...
