The Big Ten has been a bit of a disappointment nationally, but apparently Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes didn’t get the message. Bo Pelini’s Cornhuskers are in need of a big win to solidify their ranking and place atop the Big Ten’s Legends Division. Last year against Ohio State, the Huskers pulled off the greatest comeback in school history, scoring 28 straight to erase a 21-point deficit. Ohio State will certainly have revenge on their minds this year. Saturday night in Columbus we might just find out who is the best team in the conference. We also might find out who is the best quarterback in the conference. Nebraska at Ohio State Ohio State (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) is fresh off a 17-16 win over Michigan State in East Lansing in which their defense handled the Spartans with relative ease. The Buckeyes held MSU star running back LeVeon Bell to just 45 yards on 17 carries and forced Andrew Maxwell to throw 42 times. He completed only 22. Quarterback Braxton Miller overcame three turnovers...

It’s time we talk about Kenny Guiton

Urban Meyer has faith in both of signal callers. It’s about time we talk about Ohio State’s back-up quarterback Kenny Guiton. Guiton was a three sport athlete out of Texas who chose to go to Ohio State in 2009. This is his fourth season with the Buckeyes; he was red-shirted as a freshman, and still has another year on the team. He hasn’t taken a lot of snaps, but got a chance...

Pelini keeps Buckeye pride under wraps

To Bo Pelini, Nebraska's visit to Ohio Stadium this week is strictly business.

Buckeyes More Ready If Miller Goes Down

Last year, a young, battered Ohio State team fell apart when Braxton Miller was hurt at Nebraska. This year, the Buckeyes feel like they proved at Michigan State that won't be an issue going forward as the Cornhuskers return for this year's contest.

Big Tentacles  -  The SWRT look at the Big Ten, and its sway over the college football landscape. But that was yesterday, and yesterday's gone. Nebraska head football coach Bo Pelini says he isn't feeling nostalgic about the Cornhuskers' upcoming road trip to Ohio State on Saturday. Pelini played for Ohio State from 1986-1990. Know the Enemy – Buckeye Edition

The Buckeyes got their first real test on Saturday afternoon going into East Lansing and squeaking out a close win in normal Ohio State fashion. It was a mile-marker of sorts for the team, coaches and university because it was their first road game as well as their first B1G match-up that presented some big challenges. In turn, the game received quite a bit of hype. To me, the game...

Ohio State-Nebraska preview

Last week, Ohio State won its biggest game yet. The reward for the 5-0 Buckeyes? Their biggest game yet -- again. After last weekend’s 17-16 upset victory in East Lansing to open the Big Ten portion of the 2012 schedule, the Ohio State Buckeyes will now host Bo Pelini, Taylor Martinez, Rex Burkhead and the 21st-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers as three point favorites this Saturday night at 8pm Eastern at Ohio Stadium. WHERE THEY’VE BEEN Saturday’s win against...

Martinez looks familiar to Buckeyes defense

In preparing for its game on Saturday night against No. 21 Nebraska and quarterback Taylor Martinez, Ohio State found the perfect surrogate. The 12th-ranked Buckeyes (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) didn't have to go far to find someone with Martinez's acceleration, vision, lane-changing speed and knack for lengthy touchdown runs. He was just across the line of scrimmage: quarterback...

Rival Rewind helped Michigan last week

Michigan has the unique position of having three big rivals. Most teams only have one rival to get up for, but year-in and year-out, Michigan has three. While we, as fans, hate each of these teams, we carry some respect for them. Michigan State and Ohio State carry conference affiliation ties while Notre Dame, well, we all just put up with them. All season long, it’s fun to keep...
