The Big Ten Conference’s last game of Week 1 was a 41-14 loss by then No. 8 Michigan to then No. 2 Alabama.  Week 2 did not treat the conference any better as two ranked teams, No. 16 Nebraska and No. 13 Wisconsin, picked up early losses to unranked teams.  The Cornhuskers fell 36-30 on the road to UCLA, and the Badgers traveled all the way to Corvallis, Ore., only to fall to Oregon State 10-7.

Here are the numbers that stood out in Week 2.

5 - Number of Big Ten quarterbacks who rushed for over 100 yards in Week 2 (Denard Robinson-218, Braxton Miller-149, Tre Roberson-114, Taylor Martinez-112 and MarQueis Gray-109).

3 - Number of Big Ten running backs who rushed for over 100 yards in Week 2 (Venric Mark-123, Ameer Abdullah-119 and Josh Ferguson-101).

Number of Big Ten quarterbacks who had rushing touchdowns of 50 yards or more (Taylor Martinez-93, MarQueis Gray-75 and Tre Roberson-50)

1-2, 1-5 - This was the kicking line for Penn State sophomore Sam Ficken in a 17-16 loss to Virginia.  The Nittany Lion kicker had an extra point blocked and missed four field goals (including a potential 42-yard game winner as time expired).

79 - Number of total offensive yards for the Wisconsin Badgers through the first three quarters of a 10-7 loss to Oregon State.

132 - Number of total offensive yards for the Wisconsin Badgers in the fourth quarter against Oregon State, including a nine-play 64-yard scoring drive.

4 - Number of wins for Indiana (2-0) and Minnesota (2-0) through the first two weeks of the season.  That is the same number of wins the two teams combined for (Indiana-1 and Minnesota-3) all season in 2011.  The Hoosiers did, however, lose starting quarterback Tre Roberson for the remainder of the season with due to a broken leg.

Number of turnovers forced by the Iowa Hawkeyes against the Iowa State Cyclones, including three in the red zone.  Iowa still lost the game 9-6.

33 - Number of points per game allowed by the Michigan Wolverines in two games this season.

15.7 - Number of points per game allowed by the Michigan Wolverines in 2011 (ranked in the Top 15 nationally throughout the season).

6 - Number of wins for Big Ten teams in Week 2, the fewest number of wins for the conference in a “non-conference” week since Week 3 in 2009 (when the conference had 11 teams).
