Local organizers and Big Ten officials say tickets are still available the conference title game Saturday night and it is unlikely to be sold out.
The teams playing for the conference crown, Wisconsin and No. 14 Nebraska, usually have strong traveling contingents. But neither sold its entire allotment of 15,000 tickets. In addition, local organizers say, tickets available to the general public did not sell as quickly as they did for last year's inaugural Big Ten championship game.
As a result, thousands of tickets have not yet been sold.
Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini says he expects Nebraska fans to make a strong showing at ticket windows Saturday, and Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema says he still anticipates the atmosphere to be festive.
BEST OF MAXIM
Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini will never be a man of many words, but after Wisconsin got done ripping apart the Cornhuskers on Saturday night Pelini managed a moment of eloquency not seen or heard often in his time at the helm of the program. He simply manned up and took responsibility for what happened, even issuing a direct apology.
I apologize to everybody associated with...
Nebraska coach Bo Pelini spent nearly four hours watching Saturday night's debacle.
He needed less than 10 minutes to pin the blame on himself.
Wisconsin's Montee Ball ran for 202 yards and three more touchdowns, and the dominant Badgers blew out No. 14 Nebraska 70-31 in the Big Ten title game.
It's the third time in four years, the Cornhuskers have gone home empty...
Don't call it a rematch, especially in front of Bo Pelini of Nebraska or Bret Bielema of the Badgers and in truth these two teams are vastly different from the ones that took the field on Sept. 29th in the first conference matchup of the season. It was the Huskers that came out victorious however, winning 30-27. Sorry, we had to remind you of that, but it's a reality and...
On Saturday night, the Nebraska Cornhuskers (10-2) and the Wisconsin Badgers (7-5) will face off in the second Big Ten Championship Game.
While the game features last year’s champion, Wisconsin, this season’s championship has a much different feel then the Wisconsin-Michigan State classic from 2011, and the two teams’ paths to this game couldn’t be much different.
Or, to be more accurate, when does Wisconsin impersonate West Virginia...???
Nebraska seems to be living off their "Blackshirts" legacy instead of continuing to add to the legacy. Giving up 70 will do that...
Wisconsin destroyed the Cornhuskers 70-31 to keep the Number 12 Huskers out of the Rose Bowl after the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis.
