If someone told you at the start of the season that Brigham Young Cougars linebacker Kyle Van Noy had done it all, that person would have a strong case. After all, Van Noy is the only player in college football to record a stat in all the major defensive categories, plus touchdowns, each of the past two seasons (tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, interceptions, forced and recovered fumbles, pass breakups, quarterback hurries, blocked kicks, and touchdowns). However, when Middle Tennessee came to visit BYU in Provo last Friday night, Van Noy showed us he still had some “unfinished business” in the stat and scoring department. In his first three seasons, Van Noy had scored three touchdowns via fumble recovery and once via interception return. Cougar Conversations: Marcus Mathews

Two years ago Marcus Mathews was the hero in BYU's 27-24 victory over Utah State. With 11 seconds on the clock, Mathews caught a tipped pass in the end zone to give BYU the win at home. The Cougars won another slugfest against USU in 2012 by a score of 6-3. Mathews hopes the streak continues and talks about this Friday’s game.
