TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Cardinals turned to the quarterback position with the second of their two sixth-round draft picks Saturday, choosing Ryan Lindley of San Diego State.
Lindley started a school record 49 consecutive games with the Aztecs, establishing several school passing and total yardage records. At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, he has a strong arm but had issues with his accuracy, particularly as a senior, although he said he has worked hard in the offseason to improve his footwork.
He joins a team that has three quarterbacks already under contract: Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and third-stringer Rich Bartel.
The Cards chose defensive back Justin Bethel of Presbyterian with the first of their two sixth-round selections.
