While I was busy losing money at Churchill Downs on Friday, Louisville head coach Charlie Strong picked up his tenth commitment from the 2014 class. De’Eric Culver, a 6-foot 185-pound cornerback from Tallahassee, Florida has verbally pledged to Louisville.
Culver is rated as a three star prospect and also has scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi State. Florida State and Auburn hadn’t offered a scholarship, but their interest level with Culver had picked up in recent weeks.
The Tallahassee native had a big junior campaign, recording 54 tackles, forcing four fumbles and recording two interceptions for Godby High School, the Florida 5-A State Champions. Culver’s commitment gives Louisville six verbal pledges from the state of Florida.
