The #2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes head to Berkeley to take on the Cal Golden Bears in this week's featured college football game of the week. This is the second game in a home-and-home series, in which Ohio State won the opening game, 35-28. Last year's game was the first meeting between the two teams in 40 years and the Bears gave Ohio State a tougher battle than they were expecting. The game was tied at 28 with a little more than three minutes remaining in the game when quarterback Braxton Miller hit Devin Smith for a 72-yard touchdown, serving as the catalyst for the Buckeyes to continue on to an undefeated season. This year, OSU heads to Cal's newly-renovated stadium to face a team headed by new coach Sonny Dykes. Dykes takes over the Cal program after leading Louisiana Tech to a season in which they were the nation's top ranked offense, scoring 51.5 points per game. The Bears will be featuring Dykes' up-tempo spread offense known as the Air Raid and key to the Bears' success will be finding a quarterback. Freshman Jared Goff looks to be the early frontrunner for the position. However, asking anyone, let alone a freshman, to start against Ohio State is asking a lot. Quarterback Braxton Miller returns to lead the Buckeyes and anything less than another undefeated season and a chance at the Big Ten Championship and National Championship will be a disappointment.

The College Football Universe Top 126 beginning week two is posted below. It is called the CFU Top 126 since all FBS teams including schools in transition are ranked. The ranking is simply based on which teams I perceive as the best. The CFU Preseason Top 126 was used as a starting point so some rankings may differ greatly from the AP or Coaches Poll. The Fair Ranking System standings...
Before you can be a starter let alone a star at Ohio State, you have to put on a hard hat, collect your lunch pail and join those sweating it out on special teams.
Almost every well-known Buckeye has played his way onto the first team based on what he did on the grunt squads that are neither offense nor defense. Several probably have cost themselves a starting job by not committing...
Sure, LeBron James never attended an institute of higher learning, nor did he play college basketball for any school, let alone at THE Ohio State University, that has not prevented the Buckeyes from given the Akron, Ohio, native his very own stall in the basketball team’s locker room. Ohio State is among the schools, Kentucky […]The post LeBron James given his own locker in Ohio...
LeBron James, once a high school phenom, didn’t go to college…thus, he didn’t play college basketball. But that hasn’t stopped the Ohio State Buckeyes from giving LeBron a locker stall inside their brand new basketball locker room.
Why? Well, they say it’s because James has given so much branded gear to the university that they want to be able to show it to recruits. It...
In the first game of the 2013 season, the Ohio State Buckeyes showed how explosive their offense can be in the second year of Urban Meyer’s system. Here at the Empire, we are going to breakdown two of the Buckeyes five scores which went for over 40 yards and also the two-point conversions executed by back-up quarterback Kenny Guiton.

LeBron James is bringing his talents to... Columbus?
Technically, the two-time NBA champion is not going to be playing for Ohio State, but he now has a locker in the Buckeyes' locker room.
Ohio State has added the locker with James' name and hometown for several reasons - one of which is that the team has a large supply of team-branded LBJ material.
It’s good to see that Greg Oden signed with Miami, spent some time on South Beach, trained with LeBron and headed right…
Celtic Jared Sullinger just walked into courtroom wearing a grey Buckeyes t-shirt, for his alma mater, Ohio State.

We see what you are doing here, Urban Meyer. Ever the ultimate tactician in recruiting, Meyer has added LeBron James' name to the Ohio State locker room.
Galion (OH) junior safety Cario Davison was one of the unofficial visitors at Ohio State's opening win over Buffalo last Saturday. Although not as well known as some of Ohio's top 2015 prospects, Davison is a player to watch.
The Ohio State football team scored 40 points in its season-opening victory vs. Buffalo but Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes want to find better results on the offensive side of the football.
If LeBron James had gone to college, he has said he would have played for Ohio State. A Buckeyes fan his entire life, the team even dons LeBron-endorsed Nike gear. And the OSU football locker room has a new addition this season, a locker dedicated to the Heat star.
