Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson threw out the first pitch at the Detroit Tigers-Toronto Blue Jays game on Tuesday and it could have gone better to say the least.  This pitch skipped to the catcher and ended up on SportsCenter’s segment featuring the worst first-pitches off all-time. Denard could have hidden from the pitch and the interviews that people wanted but instead he joked about it on Twitter and went on the Dan Patrick show to talk about it. To all my high school friends that I played baseball with at DBHS I’m sorry for not showing my skills yesterday. Lol — Denard Robinson (@DenardX) April 10, 2013 @helloimcourtnee and I before the opening pitch.. If that’s what you want to call — Denard Robinson (@DenardX) April 10, 2013 You have to give Denard credit for taking it all in stride and joking about it.  How can you not like this kid?  Besides, it’s not like he’s the only quarterback that has thrown a bad first pitch.  Check out Johnny Manziel’s wild pitch that happened on Sunday before the Texas Rangers-Los Angeles Angels game.  It’s not like the Heisman Trophy Winners throw was that much better, at least Denard’s was more on line with the plate. Manziel said he was more nervous for the first pitch than he was for any football game and that Nolan Ryan gave him some advice: “My heart was beating a little bit, but it was good,” Manziel said. Manziel admitted to being nervous and that he hasn’t been that nervous since the Heisman night. Manziel was getting advice from legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan. “Don’t bounce it,” he said. Perhaps Nolan Ryan should have talked to Denard. [GIF via: Eye on CFB] [Lost Lettermen]

Denard Robinson tosses ceremonial first pitch

Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson's arm was always a question mark while playing for the Wolverines.  He was a tremendous athlete and one of the best and most electric runners to ever play the position... but yea, about that arm.  Robinson is going to try to make it at the next level as a wide receiver, but his "accuracy" was on full display as he threw...

Denard's first pitch comes up short

DETROIT -- Denard Robinson has a decent arm. Hey, he was the starting quarterback at the University of Michigan for a while. But when Robinson threw out the first pitch before Tuesdays Tigers-Blue Jays game at Comerica Park, he spiked it about five feet in front of the plate. Terrible! said Robinson, who smiled and laughed it off. Just horrible, man. I tried to baby it up there...

Denard Robinson one-hops ceremonial first pitch at Tigers game (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Former Michigan Wolverines football star Denard Robinson threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday's Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park...if you can call it that. Robinson's throw fell about 10 feet short of home plate. We'll see if the poor display has any impact on Robinson's NFL draft status. Video...

Denard Robinson throws out first pitch at Tigers game and it wasn’t pretty (GIF)

(image via USAT SI) Before we ridicule the young man for his less-than-stellar efforts of throwing a baseball from the pitcher’s mound, it warrants pointing out that during his career as the quarterback of the Michigan Wolverines, Denard Robinson was much better known for his skills as a runner than his acumen as a passer. Still, the young man is a world-class athlete, in possession...

Denard Robinson Does Michigan Proud (sarcasm completely intended) With Pathetic Opening Pitch

It is not a good day for the Michigan Wolverines. With their basketball team suffering a close, hard-fought loss in Monday night's national championship the Wolverine Faithful could sure use something to make them smile. Something from one of its stars to make them feel proud to be a member of the Wolverine Nation would hit the spot; possibly provide some light on an otherwise...

Denard Robinson threw out a terrible first pitch at Tigers game

Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson threw out the first pitch at the Detroit Tigers-Toronto Blue Jays game Tuesday at Comerica Park, and it did not go well. As you can see, Robinson was pitching from the front part of the mound, and his throw bounced well before it got to the plate. This coming from a quarterback, no less. Robinson is trying to make the switch from QB to...

Denard Robinson Spikes First Pitch at Detroit Tigers Game: Video

Denard Robinson does not figure to throw many passes in the NFL, after an elbow injury ended his career as a quarterback at Michigan. Judging by Robinson’s first pitch before the Detroit Tigers-Toronto Blue Jays game on Tuesday, that’s probably for the best. Robinson’s toss barely made it halfway to the plate, one-hopping its way home. The ugly video evidence: Your browser...

Denard Robinson: Not to be Confused With Good 1st Pitches

((ht: It might be a good thing that now former University of Michigan QB Denard Robinson is trying to ply his wares in the NFL as a Wide Receiver. Because had he stayed at quarterback, he'd probably never live down the 1st pitch he threw Tuesday afternoon at a Detroit Tigers home game. Well, okay, this is making the rounds on the Interwebs right now,...

Denard Robinson throws terrible first pitch at Detroit Tigers game (Video)

Over the years here on the Outside the Boxscore, we've seen some pretty terrible first pitches at baseball games but this one from former University of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson might be among the worst. Denard was invited to throw out the first pitch of today's Detroit Tigers/Toronto Blue Jays game and well, the below video shows his less than stellar effort...

Michigan’s Denard Robinson Throws Terrible First Pitch at Tigers Game (Video)

Its been a rough week for University of Michigan athletics. The basketball team suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Louisville on Monday in the finals of the March Madness tournament. On Tuesday, things didn’t get much better because Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson embarrassed himself and the university with what can only be described as a feeble attempt at a first pitch...
