Denard Robinson's NFL future might not be at wide receiver after all. Although Robinson worked out as a wide receiver at the NFL scouting combine, he showed off his talents as a running back and kick returner at Michigan's Pro Day Thursday in Ann Arbor. Many observers have wondered if, given Robinson's experience and talents, he might not be better suited to a third-down backWildcat role than to receiver, and legendary talent evaluator Gil Brandt agrees. Brandt said on NFL.com that Robinson's "best NFL position might be running back -- even if he worked out at receiver at the combine -- as he can really make things happen when the ball is in his hands." Robinson chose to keep his 4.43 40-yard time from the combine, and did not throw passes, despite saying that he expected to be able to do so. Robinson was the only Wolverine to participate in the official combine, so Thursday was a chance to show off for seniors who are hoping to be picked late in April's draft or sign on as an undrafted free agent. According to Brandt, OG Patrick Omameh, DT Will Campbell and SS Jordan Kovacs all showed enough to have a possible pro future, although he thinks Campbell might end up moving to the offensive line, which he played high school.
