Found January 20, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
Just 24-hours after making an official visit to Louisville, 3-star defensive lineman Derrick Calloway has de-committed from the Cardinal program and is now a part of South Florida’s recruiting class. Calloway had given Louisville a verbal commitment in December and left this weekend saying he was solid with that commitment, despite taking a visit to South Florida last weekend and was scheduled to visit Arkansas next weekend. With this being one of the biggest recruiting weekends for Louisville since Charlie Strong took over the program in 2010, I certainly didn’t expect it to lead to zero new commits and one de-commitment. Calloway picking USF over Louisville isn’t something I think Cardinal fans should panic about. However, I do think this is only the beginning of Willie Taggart making noise on the recruiting scene in the state of Florida.

Syracuse 70 – Louisville 68: Post Game Notes

Albeit a close game, anytime you have Peyton Siva and Gorgui Dieng combine for seven total points, it could be hard to beat just about anyone. Cards were right on par with their average of 11.4 steals a game with 12.  That led to a 21-6 advantage in Points Off Turnovers.  That kind of advantage is not typical in a loss. Just under 37% of Louisville’s offense came from Russ Smith’s...

Clint Hurtt in trouble with NCAA

Last year Louisville associate head coach, defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator was named in the scandal that sent Nevin Shapiro to jail and the Miami Hurricanes to, more than likely, a major penalty by the NCAA.  Not only was Hurtt named in the scandal, but he played a major role in “woo-ing” the recruits by making sure that they got to Shapiro’s parties and yachts...
