After starting his career at Florida, AC Leonard has found a home at Tennessee State.
A.C. Leonard, Tennessee State
Leonard is currently one of the top tight ends at the FCS level. Leonard caught eight passes for
99 yards for the Gators as a freshman in 2011. Off-the-field issues preceded his transfer to Tennessee State. Since joining the Tigers last year, Leonard has been the
team's most reliable weapon in the passing game. The 6''4, 235 pound Jacksonville, FL native caught 51 passes for 733 yards and six touchdowns in 2012,
winning numerous All-American honors. He currently has 22 catches and four touchdowns through five games for TSU.

BEST OF MAXIM
Florida junior defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy earned the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor for his performance in the 30-10 win over Arkansas, the league office announced Monday.
Purifoy, a Pensacola native, had the best game of his career, highlighted by returning his first career interception for a touchdown that gave Florida a lead that it never relinquished...
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Sometimes, for whatever reasons, the grass appears greener somewhere else.
Often, a player transfers and is never heard from again. Other times the change of scenery works out.
Gators offensive lineman Max Garcia falls into the latter category.
Garcia has started all five games at left guard for Florida after sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules...
#17 Florida (4-1, 3-0) at #10 LSU (5-1, 2-1)
Saturday, Oct 12th, 3:30 PM EST, CBS
Line: LSU by 7
This rivalry between founding members of the SEC has gone back and forth recently with each team winning six of the last twelve games. Florida has won three of the last five but LSU has won two of the last three. LSU has won three of the last four in Baton Rouge. This has...
The defensive accolades continue to pour in for cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy. The junior had the best game of his career on Saturday against Arkansas by filling the stat sheet in different areas. Purifoy is Florida’s second defensive player to win the award after Dante Fowler earned it for his performance against Tennessee.

Perhaps overlooked in the Florida Gators win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday night, due to big performances from wide receiver Solomon Patton and cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy, was the career day from redshirt junior quarterback Tyler Murphy.
Making just the second start of his collegiate career, since the season-ending injury to...
The Gators want to control the clock and have success on the ground when they have the ball. The yards are there because of the volume of run plays, but the Florida offense hasn’t shown the necessary production on the ground this year. Matt Jones and Mack Brown are averaging 4.3 and 3.7 yards per carry respectively after Mike Gillislee averaged 4.7 last year. It needs to improve...
There aren’t many positive memories for Ronald Powell when he thinks about Florida’s last trip to Baton Rouge. He dealt with stingers through the game that kept him off the field with his teammates. On the field, the outcome wasn’t much more enjoyable for the Gators. Florida suffered a 41-11 loss in the first career start for quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
The internal clock in Tyler Murphy’s head was ringing. It was time to go. He was running his first drive as the Florida quarterback against Tennessee, and he narrowly beat the pass rush of linebacker A.J. Johnson before scrambling for a first down. It was foreshadowing of how Murphy would impress the country in his first three games.
Florida will open practice with Scottie Wilbekin on the floor and Will Yeguete and Eli Carter on the mend.
Coach Billy Donovan partially reinstated Wilbekin on Wednesday, saying the senior point guard will rejoin teammates at their first practice Friday.
Yeguete and Carter, meanwhile, have not been cleared to practice or play. Yeguete, a 6-foot-8 forward, is recovering from surgery...
The Florida offense has had its issues with getting into the end zone this year. The Gators have been okay moving the ball between the 20’s, but when it comes time to score points the proverbial wall seems to be laid somewhere between the20 and the goal line more often than not. One guy that has made an impact in the offense working to get over that hurdle is senior receiver Solomon Patton.
Florida travels to baton Rouge to take on perennial power LSU on Saturday. The Gators head to the bayou with a 4-1 record and will look to keep things going. Florida head coach Will Muschamp spoke to the national media about his team and the big game on Saturday.
While the rest of the SEC is busy piling up the points against one another, the Florida Gators' defense has remained as dominant as ever.
Florida Gators vs. LSU Tigers football preview and predictions. Who is going to win when the Gators head into Death Valley for an SEC showdown against LSU?
While teams across the country have already begun practice for the 2013-14 season, Florida head coach Billy Donovan chose to wait. The Gators are still waiting on guard Eli Carter (leg) and forward Will Yeguete (knee) to get healthy and neither will be on the court when Florida opens practice on Friday. The hope is that both will be ready when Florida opens the regular season on November 8.
The Florida basketball program will host media day on Wednesday before starting practice on October 11. The Gators will try to find a new identity after losing three starters from last season in Kenny Boynton, Erik Murphy and Mike Rosario to graduation, but there are plenty of questions that surround the team as the start of practice gets closer.
