Found August 30, 2012 on NFL Draft Zone:

Vanderbilt defense is a very talented team, but they will get a very tough test in week one, when junior running back Marcus Lattimore comes to town.  Lattimore was banged up last year and missed a big portion of the year, but Lattimore is ready to come back and make a huge impact versus the Commodores.  Expect this to be a closer game, but expect Lattimore to have a big game tonight against the Vandy defense.  Lattimore has only faced Vandy once in his career and was held to only 73 yards rushing the ball, but added an additional 70 plus yards in the air.  He has also scored twice against the Commodores.

What will stand in the way of Lattimore’s big performance?  Bob Shoop and his Vandy defense, who is finally making a name.  Last year, Shoop’s defense finished 18th nationally last season in total defense. They were sixth in the SEC, but is it enough? Coach Franklin of Vandy has said numerous times that no one’s job is safe on their team.  As he say’s in all his interviews “SWAG” is important in the Vandy locker room, but will “SWAG” be able to stop the best running back in the NCAA?  I don’t think so, we shall find out tonight as South Carolina travels to Vandy to face the Commodores on ESPN at 7 pm. Eastern time.

Shaw, Lattimore help South Carolina outlast Vandy

The Vanderbilt Commodores and South Carolina Gamecocks got the 2012 college football season off to an uninspiring start Thursday night. The ‘***** pulled out the 17-13 win behind a stellar performance from the defense and doing just enough on the ground to wear down Vandy in the fourth quarter.
